F*cking header!!@!!

Cant you just take the little metal part off? Or would that start melting plastic and stuff. I would sue em and make em buy you a supra.

Yeah, it would melt the plastic I am afraid. Screw a supra, awr headers cost in the 911 range.

damn that sucks.....Mine is about a finger or 2 away from that fan shield.

Does anyone get a constant ticking noise at idle when they pull up next to a wall or someplace that bounces sound well??? Cause if I pull up at a drive through or something I can hear a slight ticking sound? I dont think its a leak, but I dont know I had a hell of a time getting the header to match with the midpipe.

A ticking sound is an exhaust leak. I had that after i installed a hollow cat, then when i installed the OBX 41 header it went away. U should tighten the bolts at the midpipe.

^yeah, mine is tightened all the way. I had a small leak there but put it up on the lift and knocked it with the sledge and that seemed to close it up.

Damn, those primaries are insanely long before the 90* downward bend! This is from AWR's site. Waaaay different. They need to take like 1.5-2" out betwwen the downward bend and the flange.

EDIT: the pairs of cylinders are swapped also, look how the one from his site the outside cylinders 1&4 are UNDER 2&3. Wonder why it was changed?

that one above is from the original design (which i'm certain is a better design), but now it's longer and the merge points are no where near as good.

anyway, my awr is fine. about 1.5 inches from the fans.

Guys I am planning a header as my next performance mod....

I really want the HP from the AWR headers but so you think it is worth the risk? Can they be returned? If so to what vendor?

Thanks

OBX.... thats seems to be the most reliable and easiest to install with best fitment. The difference in gains is probably negligable.

Those with the AWR, how the hell do u lower it into the bay????is there some special technique!

i keep hitting s***. ive already removed the fan!

I actually had to remove my radiator. Drain it, pull it out. Not that difficult, but I think some of the guys on here have put it in from the bottom. Gonna require two people for that, and I only had me around to help. :)

good luck!

I put my OBX in from the bottom, tight fit but I didn't have to remove the fans

OBX, Forza, or Ractive. Great gains for their price.

Slim fans help...(not the same header though)

I managed to get my awr up from the bottom by removing the fan and push the radiator hose back. Had one person underneath pushing and one on top of the car pulling. Its a huge PITA, but works.

fark!finally force the bastard from bottom.
Now i have probs aligning it all up.

Do i line up the bottom flange first?
The EGR valve seems to be in a ****** up position too.
ARGHHHHHH.
