EXTRA 25HP to your MAZDA

I didn't think they had any ECU modifications available?! That would be an ECU modifier, wouldnt it?

I have heard bad things about Jet...That you might get the Hp...but then again you might not...also..that it will screw with your idle...and it might void your warrenty!!! Mazda don't like people messing with their ECU's...Not to mention...You might not beable to pass emmissions(sp) in your state...

If you are looking for HP..at a cheap price...Take a look at nitrous...you can run it on a stock protege... I am running a 50shot..and there is one guy on here running a 75shot..

with nitrous as long as you follow guidlines..you will not have any problems..:D

I am conducting a group buy..if you are interested please check out my thread!

do not get this module
agian I REPEAT DO NOT get this module
you will get mixed results if any on the p5 ecu's
depending on what language your PCM runs this is not a logical choice to gain performance
maybe on older models even OBDI it might help
and thats might
you do not want spark advance when looking to turbo charge or nitrous.

I wonder why...

Jet doesn't list a chip for the P5 or any Protege. Their site only lists an upgrade chip for the 323 and the V-force (non-turbo) module for Mazdas. I would buy the part direct from the manufacturer, not a dealer or distributor and I'd ask Jet about it first (just an e-mail away). Jim

Hoo Boy, I'm Impressed

When I finished posting the above, I shot a note off to Jet asking about an upgrade chip for '02/'03 Proteges and P5s. I just got their response:

"We do have an ecu upgrade available for your application. The ecu upgrade does require that the factory ecu be sent to us for modification. You must purchase the upgrade package before sending the ecu to us for
The modification. Suggested retail is $399.00, and the part number is 65002. The ecu upgrades are all done per the application, in other words, do all the modifications you intend on doing before you get the ecu upgraded. That way the program can be set up for the specific modifications. Hp gains would be dependant on the extent of modifications."

If I could see some dynoed gains of realistic, reliable, and decent gains, I would certainly be up for this unit. But whats this about JET's reputation?
Cheers,
Moose

they must have set something up with ford because they hold the rights to ANY mods bieng done on there ecu's
they must be adding an epromm some thing like a piggy
i dont know how they did it yet
ill find out

I don't know about, or trust that chip. I can tell you this, though: If your worried about voiding your warranty, don't even THINK about N2O. ;) If your not worried about your warranty, nitrous is the easiest, cheapest bang-for-the-buck.
400 bucks for 50HP!

Well I dont know if that is the v force or not, but it might be. Well I never heard anything bad about jet products before. I posted a inquiry about the v force a while ago but got no responses. I had read a article a long time ago about the v force being added to a accord and said it worked well. I know the ballistic orange protege has one on the fp de motor. I am interested in the v - force if it is a plug in before the ecu like from the link, but if it is a tap the wire deal I would not be interested. Does anyone know if the v - force is plug in or wired in.

Cool...wonder if it ACTUALLY adds 25hp. Maybe only if you have cams, etc etc. But someone should give it a go and dyno before/after. it works, people can get 175hp out of our engines N/A with a bit of work.

:bs: Look at all the cars that they have listed

Fits 1990-2001 Mazda all makes except turbo
Cars Luxury Sport Utility / Truck Vans/Minivans 323
626
929
GLC
MX3
MX6
Miata
MX5
Millenia
Navajo
Protege
Protege5
RX-7
Tribute (hmm)

NO WAY IN HELL ALL THOSE MODELS ARE GOING TO HAVE THE SAME ECU OR ECU SETTINGS, I KNOW THAT FOR A FACT. THE JET MOD ONLY HAS ONE SETTING SO IT NOT LIKE THE CHIP PICKS UP ON YOUR CAR AND JUST INSTALLS THE RIGHT ONE. THAT SITE IS SAYING ONE CHIP FOR ALL NON_TURBOS :wtf: :bs:

They probably can. If they can advance the timing, they can probably retard it as well, maybe they can fix the AF ratio problems too at different throttle positions that cause pinging on higher boost setups (6psi +).
