Draxas Mz3 Exhaust

Note: I've retracted this complaint below. I jumped the gun here...I think I had PMS that day (which is really weird, 'cause I'm a guy!)(boom04)

Hey folks,

Just wanted to share a bad experience I had with Draxas customer service.

About a week and a half ago or so I was on their site, thinking about pre-ordering an exhaust system. I'm Canadian, however, and their site is silent on international shipping, so I asked whether they sold/shipped to Canada, using the site's question form.

Well, guess what they said? If you guessed nothing, nada, no response whatsoever, you're right. Even if they do ship to Canada, I wouldn't be in a hurry to buy from them based on this poor showing.

Nuff said.

Did you try to contact them again? They have a phone number and email address listed on their site. There are a million reasons why your form message might not have been recieved.

I have preordered the exaust, and every question I have asked (before and after the order) have been promptly answered.

I definatly think it's a little premature for you to be posting negative comments about them.

Seriously.

Not getting a response from a web form can hardly be considered "bad service".

If they had said something like, "We don't sell to you canuck bastards. Take off, you hoser", then you would definitely have a legitimate complaint. (evil)

OK, Ok, I withdraw my complaint, hang my head in shame, and apologize to Draxas.

However, I still think it unworthy of a quality company to have a system in place where customers are invited to ask questions, then those questions go unanswered for whatever reason. If the system doesn't work, fix it or remove it.

Anyway, I humbly admit I jumped the gun-- Nikolas has PM'd me, and among other things said he didn't recall seeing my question.

The fact that others have had good experiences and have leapt to Draxas's defence obviously means something...so I'll grant them the benefit of the doubt and take it from there.

BTW, Draxas does sell/ship to Canada, via USPS.

Sweet.

Now... tell us about this exhaust system!

Hey Goldwing,

I don't know much about the exhaust beyond what's on the Draxas site. It definitely looks and sounds sweet (there's a video/sound clip), the engineering and materials appear superior, and the price is very good.

The exhaust is here: http://store.draxas.com/browse_products.asp?Cat=2&Sub=95

I asked Nikolas about dyno results, but they haven't done them yet and are planning to in the coming weeks, once they can get some time at the local dyno tester.

They've got a good offer on pre-orders -- I think it's 10% off, and free shipping to both US and Canadian addresses.

I'm very very tempted, but I'd like to know the dynos first.

that didn't sound too far off from the 6i mufflers they put out...not bad! Is this the newly designed ss aplication I been hearing so much about?

Hey DA 6,

If you're asking me about the "ss application," I'm afraid I don't have a clue. I haven't heard about any ss application, and in fact don't even know what that means. I'm a greenhorn at all this.(uhm)

Do you know what the dyno results for the 6's 2.3 were?

for the 6 croud...the jury is still out for the draxas, injen, and magnalfow catbacks ;)

ss=stainless steel

From Draxas' web site:

mz3exh.jpg

This exhaust system is constructed of T-304 Stainless Steel, including the welds, mufflers, piping, flanges, etc. This is not made of lower quality 400 series stainless steel that other manufacturers choose to use (i.e. Magnaflow). The piping diameter is 2.5" and the bends are all mandrel bends. The mufflers and resonators are a straight through design for optimum power/torque and minimum restriction. (The picture of the kit also shows you what the high flow cat section looks like.)

OUCH $486?! Is the t-304 stainless really worth that much more over a 400 SS pipe?
I'm guessing that's also in USD...

yeper usd....depends if snow hits the ground and the area you live in they put down salt it's a better investment than replacing it when sping comes around unless you garage your 3

Dude, I live in Canada... Snow? naw, we don't get no steenking snow up here!

In Toronto they don't clear snow from the roads, they just salt it until it goes away... it's actually pretty gross...

SO in that case, the better stainless would be a wise investment?

yeah should be worth it like waxing the car before really bad snow hits. My exact words was...ug bosal...those things are expensive *crosses off list*

but yeah from the picts alone it also replaces a cat vs deleting it. Thats prpbably where the price came in

Yep. The $486 system has a new high-flow cat.

The system that picks up after the factory cats is $373.50.

The system that deletes the rear cat is $454.50 (or about the same price as the system from VRS exhaust).

still doing good considering a neon catback runs $600 most places unless you get the pos passeter one.

And considering the AutoEXE system for the Mazda3 is almost $700.

I'm seriously thinking about this Draxas system.

Now... if I just had some money...

Do like the other mekanics rase your rates ;)

The actual price for the catback system is $540. Draxas is offering the #2 kit for $486 with free shipping. I think it is a good price. The price is good until they dyno the exhaust on Nov 13th.

My catback exhaust from Draxas ships Oct. 29th. Draxas customer service was great. My credit card was billed twice for the exhaust. Nikolas was very quick and professional in responding to my multiple emails. The billing problem was not a problem at Draxas. It was a problem with the credit card billing company. On the day my credit card was billed all cards of a certain type were double billed through out the whole country. Nikolas took care of the problem and I'm very happy so far with Draxas.
