exhaust

I'm going to do a custom exhaust. Am i better off doing a single 3" pipe straight through or should I do the single to dual split? I notice on the evoX that people are doing aftermarket exhaust with a single pipe. Obviously you would gain a little more back pressure. Any info would help, thanks guys.

I almost got the single exit but decided that it would not look right with the bumper set up. It is pretty obvious that something is missing when the pipe is gone..The y-bend seems to be a big problem with this exhaust and any custom exhaust place will be able to help that transition. I have 3" straight pipes with a high flow cat and a magnaflow resonator and I like it a lot. If you do not care about the missing pipe back there, you'd probably save a few bucks and gain a few HP with the single exit.

I mention it every chance I get... THERE IS A MARKET FOR A REPLACEMENT LEFT-SIDE REAR BUMPER SURROUND THAT DELETES THE HOLE FOR THE STOCK LEFT-SIDE PIPE. I don't have the business means to make it happen, but anybody who fabbed even a flush-mount plug that goes in the hole that is an exact match for the factory plastic would have plenty of buyers.

Dual exhasusts are expensive. The only "budget" one for the MS6 is the Magnaflow and from what I've heard, you get what you pay for with that piece. The other production dual exhausts are not cheap when compared with a comparable single-exit, and nobody offers anything in aluminized steel for those of us who don't live in the snow. Plus, with a production piece, you're paying for the engineering of a device that must be built out of small enough pieces that they are economocally mailable.

Any reputable muffler shop should be able to make you a 3" dual stainless catback with whatever universal mufflers you want for under $400. When the time comes, I'll be doing a 3" resonated midpipe, down to dual 2.5" medium length mufflers. If there was a option to delete the left-side surround, I'd go 3" all the way with with a big quiet muffler.
