Exhaust

Church's. My roommate got in a wreck b/c of church's chicken lmao. He saw a sign w/ an awesome deal on chicken, and did a double take, missed the light change to red and ended up in the guy in front of him's trunk lol.

did he get to have some chicken while he waited for the cops?

back on topic, it's all about what YOU want for the car. Bling? Power? Rice?

no lol. He did say the lady pretended that her neck was hurt (she was being serious, not doing it as a joke). She was fine...

sounds very WRX like

I would love it if my straight 4 could sound like a subaru :(

They have such an awesome purr.

I'm sure someone has mentioned it or will mention it but I can't say enough about the racing beat catback. The quality is amazing, and it isn't even loud with headers.

Just save for forced induction of some type. Intake and exhausts are good but you will want more and more power. I suggest just saving for boost.

Racing Beat !! - Here's a couple of the tip. Full catback

What's w/ the pipe in a pipe tip? Makes it look cheesy, but that's just me. I bet it sounds nice tho...

Depends what kind of look you're going for. The Racing Beat tip just looks like it belongs on the vehicle....then you hear it and it purrs. Some people would rather go for a more 'noticible' look/sound...which is cool too.

Not knockin u or anything, I was just wondering. I have the Mazdaspeed axleback (I know, not a cat-back) but I really like how it looks on the car

i would go greddy.....coz it give u the deep sound......real deep.....and it look good too.....hehe....but some how i think they all kinda sounds the same....in all cars.....tanabe sounds good too....but its more like a high preak sounds.....more touqe tho.....^^

I love the look of the HKS hi-power axel back. It's unfortunate that they don't offer it in a full cat back setup for the P5. I'm trying to decide on one of three options right now.

1) HKS hi-power axel back w/custom cat back piping from exhaust shop (best looking, also the most expensive probably - axel back alone is as much as the whole magnaflow system... yikes!)
2) Greddy Evo2 cat back (almost as good looking as the HKS, and probably a little cheaper in the long run)
3) Magnaflow cat back (cheapest of the three options- great deal! Tip is very nice and classic, but not as aggressive as I would like)

When I decide on what direction to go, it'll be hooked up to a MAM hi-flow catted mid pipe, and an OBX header. Right now I have stock exhaust except for the mazdaspeed P5 axel-back. I love it, and have no problems personally with the highway drone many speak of. However, per descriptions of other members, idk if I will be able to tolerate the sound level long once I install the OBX header and MAM mid pipe. I've heard the noise is almost unbearable with this axel-back... so that's why I'm looking to expand into a full cat-back. All in all though, the MS P5 axel back has been great to me. It sounds great w/stock components, looks great, and is usually hella cheap! Can't beat it when you're first starting out IMO.

Oh and I forgot, I have the injen CAI. I love it a lot... however the only real reason I probably chose it over a cheaper alternative is that it was offered one time in a blue color that very closely matches the color of my car (laser blue). IDK if they still produce them in this color however... I heard that I got one of the last, but have never confirmed this.

no anyone running the greddy evo2 .... with the mam midpipe on a p5

Mokeone has a greddy evo2 CB exhaust with High flow catted midpipe and I have to say his car sounds real good. When he revved his car it had a deep tone smooth rumble sound. Sounds good in my opinion. He also has a ractive header and i'm not sure what intake he has.

just wondering if i should get the midpipe or not...

from the engine, it goes header -> downpipe -> catback exhaust in an NA setup right? Would you see any gains from getting an aftermarket downpipe if you had aftermarket exhaust and header?

Header, midpipe, cat-back. Downpipe would be from the turbo to the midpipe on a turbo car, that function is part of the headers on our car NA unless you have a shorty header, then a cat, and then a downpipe to connect the cat to the midpipe.
