Exhaust - Which one? How much?

so what performance improvements can i expect with a new exhaust ?
what gains can i expect in conjunction with an intake ?

I don't think the performance gains are very substantial. I checked the Racing Beat website and they have a dyno showing about a 4.7HP improvement at peak, over the stock setup. Add an intake and you can probably squeeze out a few more.

It's more for appearance and sound than anything else.

I want an exhaust who has a deep sound and not a loud Ricer exhaust like wich exhaust have the best sounding and how much they for ???

by the nature of our engines and from all of the manufacturers mentioned in this thread, the general tone of the exhaust is nice and deep. the pitch will be different with different brands, but all will produce a nice sound. most people like the racing beat because it is the quietest of the bunch.

That, and it was basically designed especially for this car. And of course the tip is the perfect size for the cutout, and Efing gourgeous to boot!

6-7 hp with the exhaust and intake is not bad.
better then stock and gives the car a liitle boost and more zoom zoom!

The SR Motorsports exhaust is the closest you can get to the Racing Beat exhaust, without paying for the name Racing Beat. Similar build quality and for the price of the Axle back you can have a full 2.5in cat-back.

The sound is awesome, very agressive sounding, not as lovely as the N1 on my Eclipse, but close. My wife drives this car everyday, both freeway and surface streets and she has not comlained once about the volume of the exhaust.

The fit to the car is perfect. The 3in polished tip looks like the stock tip and at idle you can not tell that she has an exhaust, perfect for the person going for the stealth look.

In my opinion the SR exhaust is the best bang for the buck exhaust out for the P5.

Here is a picture of the wifes P5. kind of a crappy pic, but you can see the tip atleast.

Thanks that was the hardest thing for my wife and I to agree on. I wasnted something darker and she wanted chrome. The result, Hyper-silver, the best of both worlds.

Sorry to be a pain in the ass mod, but we are trying to clean up all the forums to make it easier to search for items, and less cluttered. In the future, please post in the appropriate forum...example - Intakes, dispite being for the Protege5, belong in the performance section. Buying a carbon fiber hood for your Protege5 belongs in the Appearance section. If you raced someone in your Protege5 it still belongs in the Racing/Motorsports section. If you have any questions, comments, or complaints, feel free to PM me at any time.

Thanks again for your patience as we clear up the forums to make it better for you!

Moving this on over to the performance section.
