Exhaust piping question

when i had by resonator ripped out and my new piping put in, the guy did a bad job so my exhaust is all messed up. Not only do i now have numerous leaks, but my pipe hits my chassis. I wanted to get new piping, but i'm not going to waste money to get 2.25", when i am getting a turbo within 6 months... i would go and get piping now, but if i do it will be 3" for my future turbo. Will the 3 inches degrade my performance to such a point where the car will feel like a honda insight, or should i just keep the degraded performance i have now with the leak and deal with the clanking in my chassis? thanks alot for the help guys...

With a 3" system you'll loose a lot of torque down low, no back-pressure. if you're gonna wait six months to go turbo, i'd try and live with what you've got now...i know kinda hard, but it'll be less fun to drive without the torque.

If you are going to get a turbo, then yes, go ahead and get the 3" piping. It will degrade your power drasticaly, but who cares, it's just temporary.
