I'm not sure if this was meant to be sarcastic or if this was sincere. I hope it was sincere or I'm going to be pissed.
If it was sincere,.....thank you.
If it was supposed to be sarcastic then here you go.
When was the last time you spent 10 months of your life in a 1/2 mile square camp surrounded by concertina wire and concrete dragons teeth. We couldn't leave the 1/2 mile square the whole time by the way. So for that 10 months of my life, I was in one spot. When was the last time you worked a 120 hour work week with no vacation for 10 months? When was the last time you risked your life to go fight for a cause that never put the nation of America at risk? When was the last time you risked your life to free millions of people from genocide? When was the last time you had to live with the fact that everyday for 3 months straight, it was because of your targeting that thousands of Serbian troops were killed from the bombs that you guided to them? When was the last time you gave the coordinates to 2 B52 heavy bombers so they could completely level a whole village just because you saw two tanks there?
Until you have done even one of those things, shut the **** up and go serve your time you pussy. If your are too much of a b**** to do that, then don't you ever comment negativly on the US military again or I will fly to South Amboy, NJ and beat the ******* s*** out of you.
If I took your remark the wrong way, ignore all of the above.
Actually, I meant it's nice to see that our tax dollars are spent on education, instead of the usual bulls***.
But for your other comment. I feel no pity for servicemen, they know exactly what they are signing up for. s*** happens, put yourself in that position, and s*** might happen to you. My father is ex-military and many of my friends are in the military. If they die, then I will be sorry to see them go, but - they knew the risk, they wanted to join the service.
People have all sorts of reasons for joining:
love of country
want to be a hero
school grants
travel
get in shape
etc.
Hell, I even considered it a few times, but I like my life, I like my freedoms. It's great that people choose to serve. They are out there fighting for my freedoms. While they are laying their lives out, I am enjoying what they are fighting for. I respect them for doing what they believe to be right. I am doing what I believe to be right. I enjoy working my 9-5 job, saving money in my 401k, and generally wasting my time with friends, toys, and random road trips/vacations.
While my friends joined the service, and saw the world, learned alot of skills, and got in really good shape; I had fun the way I wanted to. I got drunk, played with lots of drugs, went to lots of party's, took last minute flights with friends to visit friends at College, wasted money like crazy, and had a blast the whole time. I hopped around from job to job, renting rooms, apartments and sharing houses with friends.
My military friends have had their fun times, I've had mine - it's not like either is morally right or wrong, just made our own choices. In the end, I'm pretty happy. I'm 26, got a perfectly clean record, I'm a responsible gun owner (it was a phase - anyone looking to buy a .357 revolver or a .22 Marlin Rifle?), clean credit, have a good job - and a fun car.
I don't vote either, no desire to cast my drop in the bucket to sway the masses, then to hope that my states representative will vote in accordance.
If you wanna come visit or mail me something

Just don't go mailing me the 'thrax, or any of those depleted uranium shells I keep hearing about on the news.
