I found the #'s below from Sport Compact Car's website where they tested both cars.....their measurements show they are pretty evenly matched.....more evenly than I thought for sure.

loj68 said:I'm going off published HP numbers so I do know what the **** I'm talking about....I didn't pick those #'s out of the sky......whatever people say is "underrated" or "overrated" is a matter of different dyno's in different coniditions....I'm just going by what is in print. BTW if a Stage 2 SRT is 270 at the crank then the wheel HP wouldn't be 300....it would be much less. Besides all that, I agree that it's all technique as stated above......if that guy in the EVO had even half a clue how to drive, even a heavily modded Peon wouldn't walk away so easily. 99% of people who buy cars don't have a clue about shift points, revs, power bands, etc. and judging by the fact that the guy had to be bribed with gas $ to roll, he's probably another dumbass 20 something whou bought something he can't afford.....or drive good. Car and Driver (or was it Road and Track) just did a comparo pitting the EVO against a new 911 Turbo and they were dead nuts. The guy in that vid was definitely a bog-master.
michaelnchelle said:Also, the Evo is fast, but those times u read about in magazines are NOT rolling starts... they have to rev the hell out of it and beat the crap out of the clutch to get it to launch with some wheelspin. They even say during the testing that you will not duplicate these numbers if you are making the car payment, its just too hard on the car. Car and Driver does a rolling start acceleration test, 5-60. Its supposed to be a better representation of what the car will do in the real world. I tried to get the numbers but they are not listed online and I dont have the magazine in front of me, but if I remember correctly, the 0-60 with the clutch-frying launch was like 5.1 sec, and the 5-60 street start with no clutch frying was over 7 sec, like 7.1 or 7.3.
With 19psi and all wheel drive, without the boost up, the acceleration is going to be slow until it picks up. That is enough to give the SRT-4 the edge it needed.
Here you go HATER, becaust that's what you are. A genuine HATER....
Blown said:Apples vs oranges. No comparision. The SRT-4 appears fast(over-exagerated if you ask me) in the video but remember it's modded. The Evo is bone stock, I wonder how fast a slighty modded Evo would do?
loj68 said:why is a Neon guy on this forum anyways? Reminds of all the Ducati guys who used to come talk smack on the Aprilia forums.....I don't get it.
loj68 said:I'm not dissin'.....just asking why. I guess I've never felt the need to go over to SE-R forums or Focus forums and talk smack.....there's nothing there I wanna read about. Not to mention I don't have one of their cars so I wouldn't have any input.
