All these people that get all upset when you call a mazda an M3 are pissing me right off not only on this forum but on the street guys will b**** about mazda owners calling their car an M3 I know BMW makes an M3 but according to my registration my mazda is also an M3 so kiss my ass all you people saying "That's not an M3 it's a mazda" everybody in this forum knows we are not talking about a BMW M3 unless we say BMW M3 and as for the losers downtown in the pita place that we laughing about what an idiot their buddy was for calling his mazda an M3 those shitheads were driving a dodge colt at least their buddy had a decent car an M3!(direct)

IT should be Referred to simply as a "3"
End of Story.

And quit yer cryin'.

That's how I refer to it... Mz3/MS3.
And after all, the sedan's styling is based largely on the (now old) BMW 3 series. I can see why they would get upset about it.

We DO have bigger things in this world to worry about now, don't we?

Ok, so which of these is an M3H ;) :

Hum.. in the forums if you say M3 I will assume you are talking about the regular Mazda 3 - MS3 or MZ3 is more commonly used for the speed 3 - I

I have to agree that on the STREET if you call your Mazda a M3 YOU WILL get ridiculed... it comes off as either not knowing about cars or trying to pose that you have something you dont - only ones that will let you slide on using M3 on the street to refer to a Mazda are people that dont know about cars nor care...

Your registration may say a lot of things - it doesnt mean people will "understand" you mean a Mazda when you say M3 - believe the proper street creed for a MS3 is Speed 3 not M3

i think it should be referred as a mz3... m3 is the flagship of BMW....

mazda does not make an M3. BMW does. everywhere - on the forum, on the street, in make believe land. any vehicle designated as Msomething is a german performance vehicle. even if people know what you mean you make yourself look worse by referring to it that way

When auto makers refer to flagships they are refering to their biggest most luxurious car in the fleet. The 750IL would be BMW's flag ship. Just setting that straight.

Please do not call your Mazda3 an M3, that acronym is reserved for BMW's M3. The correct acronym for the Mazda3 is either MZ3 or 3, simple as that.

(iagree) anyone who thinks different is (screwy)

Come on guys in the context of the forum and reading what people are saying I'm sure we could all figure out which one people are talking about is it annoying yes but it's not the end of the world and people will call the Mazda3 a M3 until they stop making them and the last one dies... that being said I spell out Mazda... it's 5 letters.

Oh and no one has said it wrong on here but it's BIMMER not Beemer. Just to clear that up while we are talking about BMW's. Oh and my sister has a 2000 BMW 3 series and we switch back and forth because we both love each others cars. Both 3's are GREAT cars!

The M3 always has been and forever will be a BMW. Calling a Mazda an M3 is just ludicrous, in addition to being an act of heresy. It's a "3" or a "Mazda 3."
