i wanted to see if i needed to support the motor or tranny when i am changing out my MM. i rather not get smashed under my car. thanks. pics of install would be great.

rear mount doesn't need any support, but tranny mount definitely does. search for abilor's tranny mount post in the how-to section for picks. plan on two jacks and don't freak out when your engine still shifts a bit.

you can do it without supporting the engine, but you will need a pal to rock the engine back and forth to get it re-aligned in order to get the bolts thru

are you talking about the rear mm or the tranny mount?

hmm you shouldnt even need a buddy to rock it. I have changed mine out several times without any support or buddies.

My woman usually says that was fast or good job, but really, that is the only support i have ever needed.

did you take out the 3 bolts that hold the mount in place? what mount did you purchase?

3 bolts? Mine only has two.

I got the TRZ delrin

I think he might be talking about the the bracket that holes the Rear motor mount to the transmission. It has 3 bolts and makes it a bit easier to take out/put in the mount if its giving you trouble.

i see. I haven't had to take that out. Once you get it down it should be no sweat to change this without having to remove the bracket.

thanks guys. i just wanted to know because i have a SU MM but i didnt install it so i wasnt sure. its been making alot of noise so i gotta check it out.

Its already in and you had someone else install it, or did you mean you haven't installed it yet?

The SU mount is 2 pieces and some have been known to come loose at the center bolts.
