Engine not starting

I have a wierd issue and was curious if anyone else has experienced this.

I have a '03 P5 with 43k miles, I purchased the car used on 11/29/2005.

When the engine is cool, it starts immediately, no problem. But after the engine is warmed up and I try to start the car, sometimes it will not start. It will not even try to attempt to struggle to turn over - total silence.

The gauges will work, in fact the whole instrument panel will light up and the needles for temp and gas will go where they normally would - but it will not start. Sometimes I will wait for a minute or two and try again. And it usually will start. Except today.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this? While the engine is running there is no hesitation, so I have ruled out a fuel pump going bad. The starter has also never given an indication of going bad either by barely turning over or making any wierd noises. And I never have this issue when the engine is cold.

I would look at the spark plugs first. My car runs like total crap when the plugs are worn. $6 to replace, too. might also want to try Seafom fuel treatment. Great to clean injectors, etc. I run 1/2 inthe tank, 1/2 firectly fed into the intake right out of the can, via the cruise control hose. Google it for more info.

Well, the first two things to check are fuel and spark. Make sure you're getting them. Be 100% sure.

Also, was your car a flood car?
