ELEmental goes N/A!

Ahmad, hope you get that BEAST N/A running soon and come with us to Austin. This motor when it was in Davids yellow P5 sounded nice and runs fast, and that was with a slipping clutch. So, im sure you will be liking the power it will putout...Enjoy!!!

haha...yeah :) , you could say that it's one of my favorite's, I wish I could follow it as easy as I read it! Do you have any favorites?

Due to lack of money and life - This project has been running pretty slow.. heres the update.

The crank was in horrible condition - all the specs were way off and there were gouges where the rod, main, and thrust bearings each touch the crank. THe wiring harness was burnt up due to a wire getting too hot and shorting out. This was causing my starting problem.

- I had a machine shop machine all surfaces of the crank - that ran me $100
- I bought the toga main and rod bearings both in 20 over size
- I bought the OEM mazda 20 over thrust washers.
- repainted the engine red
- changed both cam seals (OEM)
- changed the head gasket (OEM)
- bought both OEM main seals - still need to be pressed in
- rewired the stock wiring harness completly with way bigger grounds and I removed all the unused plugs and harnesses (all OEM O2 sensors, EGR, Everything for emmissions, removed the charcoal canister, removed the MAF and air temp plugs, etc.
- after the wiring harness was done I re loomed it and wrapped it all in red tape. LinuxRacr compared the way it looks to a giant artery.

Right now the engine is sitting on a stand with the crank installed with the new bearings and washers. After I press in the main seals I can finally assemble everything and drop the engine in.

I'am just amazed at the amount of knowledge you guys have adquire in the last years....very proud!

Pictures of that new wiring Harness:

I dont have near that kind of money to spend on my car right now. Maybe a year ago I would have.

I just assembled the engine completly. Clutch is on and I am working on mounting the tranny. I should be running before next weekend!!!

Thanks, it took a good ammount of time but I also didnt work on it that much each day.

Here are the latest pics:

Some of the pics show how I had to alter the thermostat housing to be able to use this specific header. I think I am the only one on here or in the US for that matter to use this header. I didnt have the cash to buy a different header after learning this one wasnt compatible so I did some customizing. I posted what I did a long time ago but I dont think I posted any pics.

not too bad off, but they have a destroker kit too. whichever you want

a stroker kit for the already "stroked" FS (FS being the stroker version of the FP) is not going to do anything for hp...if you manage to keep the rod ratio the same with a few more mm's of stroke, you won't lose power...but MPS will be so high at the stock redline you will never pull air through the restrictive head, even after heavy modifications...

turbo's are different, I am speaking strictly on NA...and stictly NA you definately will see considerable more torque at a lower rpm...but if you are looking for more hp, destroking is definately the way to go...

OMG, ahmad.. that's sweeeeet!!! me i haven't done much more to my car..lol other then the fact that i will have to replace the front lip i got from victor.. it has be run into by the curb a few times. ops.. it will cost about the same if not more to try and fix it. so i think i'll just have got get a new one.

wow you will be ready when we go to Ennis then...Ahmad, engine looks nice seems the elemental mobile is back to show n go now.
