ELEmental goes N/A!

2002 P5, 1978 F250
Some of you may know I have been out of the game since June when I blew my motor. I was originally going to get a built block from MAM along with a SS kit but I recently got married and that took over my engine and turbo fund.

Anyways I bought a used motor off ebay with 9k miles on it for $600 and had it ready to drop into my car when someone and offer for a trade with a built NA block became available.

I will post pictures tonight but basically it looks like I will be taking over an NA build from another yellow P5. The engine I have in my garage has some serious potential and I plan on trying to push the boundaries of what has been done as far as N/A builds.

This engine has 10:1 compression, a 7 angle valve job, wiseco pistons, shot peened rods, ceramic coated exhaust ports end everything was balanced. I am sure there is more that the previous owner had done to this engine but I am still working on getting the list of things done. I know he was slipping the stock clutch like crazy with this setup.

He had this engine on a car with the VTCS flaps removed, stock exhaust manifold and a 2.5 inch piping, stock intake, and stock ECU.

With this engine on my car, it will be getting some upgrades. I have my Haltech E6X still, and a ported intake manifold, aftermarket header, 2.5inch straight piping, 440cc injectors, spec stage 3 clutch.

I will post pictures up soon of the engine and install.

I already have this clutch and it worked great even up to 20 psi on my turbo setup. I am sure it will do fine on an N/A setup. I have no complaints and have heard no complaints.

Also, because it does engage and disengage lightly, I imagine it is better at not wearing down the thrust bearings faster than a heavy clutch. Yet it engages and disengages perfectly.

spec stage 3 clutch = s***

please, you will be very sorry if you get this clutch

I've been running the same clutch for over a year now without issue. If you don't let it warm up before getting on it hard, they you may have issues...

That's 11.5:1 compression .30 over... Enjoy the motor...

Hey Pat, glad to hear it has worked well for this long! I do let it warm up, though so I dont know what's up. This is THE single worst thing I have done to my car. This clutch smells, slips, shakes, and is just junk all around. It was installed by people who do a lot of Turbo Protege's so I know it was installed correctly.

Again, glad to hear some of you have had good luck with these.

head was also decked and machined, block was miked and presure checked. the crank was machined a 1000th and balanced along with the entire motor being balanced

I even use mine with a Fidanza Flywheel! (eek2) Sorry to hear of the problems.

congrats Ahmad, I'll try to dig up my Injen intake for you. you still need a radiator?

nice sounding setup. Wondering if you are gonna put in some forged rods like from oliver so that you can make this puppy rev a little higher and be happy up there? sounds good so far, keep us updated.
