ECU Tuning for the 5 now available....

If you are looking for a tune for your 5 and have been let down by the likes of Hypertech, Superchips, Cobb or others, you now have a viable option.

Joseph at DPTune.com (Dynotronics.com) now has ECUTek programming abilities for the regular 2.3 motors used in all other Mazdas and has confirmed he can tune the 5 also. This is a custom tune and done by special software he sends you. You connect your car via laptop and a licensed cable which datalogs your ECU data. He rewrites the appropriate fuel, timing and other maps then sends you a tune file to upload. He can tune for power on premium fuel or better economy on regular. Datalog and repeat as needed until perfect.

Also note that if you have a CEL for any specific mod he can disable that particular code also.

Improved mileage should be a given for any tune he provides. I've noticed the factory ECU can run as rich as 11.0:1 at WOT

I'n in this process now and am removing the AEM FI/C from my turbo setup and will be running on the factory ECU tuned for the new injectors and boost. I'll update with results. Check his website for contact info. There is a group buy on the tune now on another Mazda 3 forum.

Isn't there any tune available for the 2012+ with the 2.5???

Contact them via email. They are looking for testers now for the newer, non-skyactive engines. You'll probably want to email a few times and/or call. They can be difficult to get a response sometimes.

Oh damn, how did I miss this thread? How much does he charge for successive tunes? I want full control on MY end since I have access to a dyno and wideband whenever I need them... don't want to remote tune my car.

You can probably just purchase the professional tuning suite to do it yourself but that would likely be $1000 or more. This is for remote tuning. The software datalogs via CAN and they make the appropriate adjustments then send back a tune file to upload. Minor corrections are included but am thinking there would be a charge if you do a major change. I'm still waiting to get mine done. The software is rejecting the ECU ID from my 5. They are updating the program to recognize the ECU ID's for the 5 since most of the calibration information is the same as the 3.

I guess I'll just have to give them a call then. I forgot that they were here in DFW...
