Im curious whats the differance between the regular Protege ECU, and then the MP3 and MSP ones??? Which would be better for my N/A Protege5 build??

this has been discussed a bunch of times. best ecu for a NA build would be the mp3 one, thats if your cars an manual.mp3 ecu has advanced timing and what not. msp ecu is meant for the low psi turbo build.

its going ok, im just having problems with it starting, and kinda narrowed it down to a couple things, ecu being one of them,so Im going to go ahead and replace it with the MP3 one.

you could get a standalone or some sort of piggyback to control certain aspects. i'm pretty sure you would gain more than an mp3 ecu?

Does the MP3 ECU support Anti-lock brakes and Side-Impact Airbags...or are these not controlled by the ECU in any way???????

a standalone tuned to the modifications you have made will probably net you more power than an mp3 ecu yes

My P5 didn't have those to begin with.

Chris you will be happy with the MP3 ECU ( trust me I know) but you will need to run high octane fuel.

So anybody know if the safety systems are controlled by the ECU or are controlled purely by sensor activation????
