MPNick - The exterior is the same, the programming is not. With the MP3 or P5 ECU there is no mid-range timing cut or jump to open loop. You can talk all day long about things working with MP3's or P5's, but until you start working with the MSP and an e-manage please refrain from comment.]
Thanks, turboge for your idea's on the EEC-V. Not sure that I can agree with it but thats life. I know how it works and how much misinformation about it is on this forum, including this thread. I have also seen the program on how it works because we have been able to have it read[cracked].
I have tuned a MSP already. I did not have any of the problems that you had with the e-manage. I think it is the fastest MSP street car to date. Anyway if you install a piggy back you should be able to change the fuel and timing within reason. You should be able to make any ecu act like any other ecu.
I have no need to work with a e-manage, I have something that works right already.
Do not get me wrong all the work and the info that you found out is great for the forum. It helps people see what works and what does not.
