Dunlop Tire split

Hey have any of you had problems with your dunlop tires? Yesterday on a way to a car show my freakin tire like split. THe side were the tread meets the wall there was a huge like slit right along it.

heh

hey,
how many miles? My mp3 did this on my front left tire on the inside tread where the wall and tread meet and the tread just started stinging off like a coil so that was the end to those tires. Is that what happend to u? If so i beleve its alignment problems.
Peace,
Zane

I need to take lessons from u how the hell do u have 30,000 on ur dunlops??? Thats almost imposible!! But yeah sounds like alignment problems! Get it checked out.
Peace,
Zane

alignment, or taking every corner and exit ramp at high speeds will do that, if it's outside edge that is

My tire bulged and looked like it wouldve eventually split...take it back to your dealer and dont take a "we dont have warranties on tires" bullcrap that i got from Mazda Canada...Dunlop themselves said when i called them that their should be warranties and that the Mazda shouldnt be saying that....got it replaced for free....i think i had 20,000km at that point on them or less

Mazda doesn't warranty the tires, the tire manufacturer does. So yes, Mazda could tell you that, but then they should direct you to call Dunlop to get it handled.

In your owner's manual booklet there should be separate tire warranty papers.

I went by a tire shop and they said mazda messed up my camber angles. Sheeze so I didnt have a lot of money right now so now I have falken tires. yup. Oh well I have to save up for other projects on the car. Does anyone know how much a real auto exe lip and grill would cost to get it from japan.

Hahahahaha

  Auto Exe from Japan:eek:  way too much money. Just goto or talk to, i mean, one of the ARD guys ARD_MP5 is his screen name on here and i believe thats Rishie. Don't quote me on that. They import all the Auto Exe stuff.
Hope thats a helper
Peace,
Zane

OK GUYS THE DAMN TIRE SHOP F***ED MY RIMS AND JACKED MY VALVE STEM CAPS. They first removed the little weights or something and then left the sticky s*** and scratched the hell out of them. Then they stole my pimpin stock valve stem caps and replaced them with bad chrome circle ones. s***! I want to kill them. THEN I went to mazda and the know all tech let tire pressure out of my tires. WHICH were perfect. SHeeze!!! Then he goes on to say how the MP3 Is basically a piece of s*** and even with a turbo you couldnt get 200hp. I told him about the forum but nope he was all no it'd wreck your tranny and "spider gears" and you shifter fork. ARGH! I'm pissed I just want to sue the damn tire company and make them by me some new rims.... Those little biatchs.....

same thing happened to me last summer w/ my dunlops at abou 32,500 miles. replace dthem with falkens. they hardly look worn and handle almost as well. very slight handling difference on dry roads. they're actually better than the dunlops on wet roads.

I have 22,000 on my dunlops. Ive heard of Kumho tires doing this too plus bubbling....So dont get them either.

I got 30K out of my stock Dunlops and replaced them with Kumho's. Everybody complains about tires splitting, cracking, and bubbling. One thing you can do to prevent this is regulary check the air pressure of your tires. It's amazing the difference you will see in handling and gas mileage with the proper air pressure. Low tire air pressure combined with hard cornering puts extra stress on tires. I'm not saying this is everyone's problem, but it is definitely something to check into.
