Dunlop=Garbage??

My new Kuhmo's are W-rated, and their tread life rating is far better than the V-rated Dunlops. I swapped my OEM's out at 20k miles, mainly due to hydroplaning and crappy traction in anything other than a dry, smooth road. I love my new ASX's.

im so tired of hearing crap about how the stock tires suck. guess what?!?! they are v-rated performance tires which means they wont last as long as all season tires people. especially if you often partake in 'spirited' driving. i have 32K miles on my stock tires. this is my 3rd winter with them and i have had no problems (knock on wood) and i still have some good life left in them. i think they will last to 40K easily.

this leads me to believe that people are driving a bit crazier then they are leading on. if you go through them in 15K miles, you seriously need to evaluate your driving habits.

personally, i'm pissed b/c they won't even make my coffee in the morning. what's up with that?

seriously though, people seem to expect the OEM tires to stick like Azenis, last 70,000 miles, and work in the rain and snow like Blizzaks.

for OEM tires, they're not bad. try a set of Honda/Acura Michelins or Subaru RE-92s and see if your opinion changes.

i got 25k+ out of my first set, including a season's worth of autoXing. 20k into my second set (no autoX on them), they're holding up just fine. that said, i won't spend $110/tire to replace them.

agreed. they are good 'stock' tires. but i wont spend the $125 the local tire place charges to replace them.
