Ya Wingman dude, you might as well rip that gauge outta there. Your gauge will indicate "lean" if AFR's go past 14.7. On hot idel, the ECU pulls fuel to keep from melting the cats, and the AFR will stabilize at like 15 - 15.5:1. As soon as I hit the gas it goes to like 14.7 out of boost. You are relying on something that is unreliable. Seriously, get a wideband or else you really don't know what's going on with your engine. THose narrowbands are a waste of money.

Check post 10 for your overpressure settings...

Thanks for all the infos, but I mainly wanted to know if the problem of "lean idle" had been resolved by the creator of this thread and if anybody else had that same problem with the AFC! The map was correctly loaded, but I didnt check all the settings mentionned earlier like the over pressure setting, so just wanted to know more about that and if people had successfuly solved the lean problem at idle!

As for the A/F gauge, is the wideband A/F from Autometer any good? I would be interested in the ultra-lite one since all of my others are this brand as well. Also, is it the same for the installation, i.e. a wire connected to the ECU, or a new wideband O2 sensor has to be plugged somewhere in the exhaust?

I've got the Phantom wideband (same thing) and it's a dream to use. Accurate as hell, easy to use, and you can switch between AFR and Lambda at the touch of a button. THe different modes it has are really cool too. I would def. reccomend it, espesially since it will match the rest of your gauges. How much VAC are you pulling at idle?

Im usualy pulling between 19 and 21 at idle.

Ill check that out for the wideband... it sure would be a great addition. Is it hard to install? Heard there was an unused bung already in place on the MSP J-Pipe is that right?

There's no bung on the stock j-Pipe.

Ok, Ive tried with the setting in the first page of the post and same thing... lean at idle! Any other ideas guys?

What I did basically was to change the settings and the re-uplaod the map. I assume its the way to do it!?

Thanks

C'mon man... How do you know your AFR's at idle?

YOU NEED A WIDEBAND!!!!

I seriously suspect that your AFRs are fine and you're putting too much faith in a useless gauge. Anyone with a wideband can back me up I'm sure. Not trying to be a dick, but trying to tune your car without one is almost moronic... Just buy one already!

Would you @#$% stop saying that. If you would have read my first post you would have seen that I HAVE TRIED THE AFC OF MY FRIEND IN MY CAR AND IT WORKS (N/B is moving back and forth between rich and lean... just like stock setup)!

With mine installed, the light stays in the red section which means that the ratio is lean so what else do you want!?? I may not have a freaking wideband, but when the light is always in the red section this is so not like the stock setup (back and forth between rich and lean) at idle. And Im not even talking about my car wanting to STALL on me at idle with the AFC installed; its bucking like crazy! So STOP saying the same s*** over and over again and try to help me with my problem. Im sure you dont wanna be a dick and youre just trying to help, but get over the wideband thing... I dont need it to know that my car wants to stall on me with the AFC installed and that the ratio stays in the red section!

So that said... I have a lean idle issue with my AFC, so if someone can help me resolve it that would be great. I tried to get a hold on DSMConvert (email + PM) but no words from him.

Thanks for any help!

* No hard feelings *
