Drizz-OH! build/progress thread

Mazda6frek came by tonight and we installed my red Techna-Fit stainless steel brake lines along with some ATE TYP 200 brake fluid. The brakes feel much smoother now and the pedal feels a bit springier. It also feels like I have slightly stronger stopping power. :D Thanks AZMZ6 for the tips!

Did my first autocross on the coilovers yesterday. ZOMG! Epic reduction in body roll and much improved grip in the turns (compared to Bilsteins + MS Hatch springs). My tires are still (and most likely always have been) the weakest point of my suspension, but this event was definitely more enjoyable than the last. :D

Here's a few pics that my friend Daniel Vincent took of me autocrossing yesterday:

Coilovers plus beefy ass sway bars FTW!

Thanks Werm for the pics.

Sup guys! Been a while since I modded the car, but I finally decided it was time to tackle a mod I've been thinking about for months..

Custom painted headlight housings!

Ooo looks good, well done man!

hopefully you took your time sealing em back up, id hate to see you build moisture or they fog up inside em.

Me too! Lol. I used ~ half a tube of silicon plus I heated up the existing black rubbery sicky crap with my heat gun before i sealed them back up. I painted the bezels on my last car, and did the same process with no leaks, so hopefully this will be good as well!

Cant believe im not sub'd to this thread! car looks awesome dude and those headlights look just like stock MS6 headlights! good work!!

^^Thank you! And that's the look I was going for. I modeled them after MS6 lights. I was originally going to do them like NA 06-08 lights, but changed my mind at the last minute coz this way was ridiculously easier to tape off, lol. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out tho!

So.... I decided I didn't like the way the chrome side markers look on my car anymore now that I have the black headlight housing, so those have been painted to match. Should have pics up tomorrow.

well that should be interesting.
the frosted side markers actually go with your paint color fairly well, but then again they matched better with your all chromed headlights too.
So now im curious how it turned out, prolly matches nicely... contrasting color schemes FTW!!!

mine match my paint color so much so that sometimes it lookslike they arent there... black cherry paint, the RPM sidemarkers are tinted but with a slightly purplish color making em damn near perfect match, lol

^^ Sounds nice.

I actually separated the lenses from the bezels (just like how I did the headlights) and painted the bezels with the same paint I used on the headlights. The lenses are still clear though and surprisingly, they blend in better than the all-chrome style. Working now, but I'm gonna try to snap some pics on my lunch break.

its crazy how something so simple can completely change the look of the car. It looks great dude.
makes me want to crack open my lights.

:D Oh, and it rained all morning and I didn't get any condensation inside my housings so that's a good sign!

Now I just need to go moar lowerz.
