Ok, i got a 7% limo tint, but i didn't do my driver's side because it's illegal to have it tinted. I wouldn't want to get pulled over and have to take it off.

Just out of curiosity, who has done it?

my dads truck has the fronts tinted, and so far so good. I think it really depends on the overall look of the car. If a person has a riced out car, the cop will pull you over using the tint as a reason, but most likely they know there is at least 3 other offenses they can bust that guy on. Just be responsible. In CA the sun is crazy huh?! That tint really helps out.

yeah it does... argh, if you're a rice burner, watch out getting tint.

i've seen BENZ, BMW's and other luxury cars get limo tint and i guess they're fine because cops figure they're old people (RESPONSBILE) driving them...

Actually in California, tinting either of the front windows is illegal. Not just the drivers side. I tinted all my windows, but I only got 32%. The guy who did it said cops tend not to bother people with the medium darkness. My friend who has a 626 has been pulled over 3 times for having limo tint on his front windows, so be careful.

Way back when, I tinted the windows in my '81 Formula. It looked really cool, but driving at night, especially in low visibility conditions such as rain was difficult. After a few months, practicality took over and I removed it. Looking cool is good, but being able to see what's next to you is kind of important too. ;)

It's a state by state thing, because here in Indiana you can tint it, but only to a certain level. I can't remember what it is, but my windows were tinted by the dealership before I bought it.

In NJ, no tint is allowed on the front windows or windshield by law. I had a Cherokee with 5% on every window, and an 8 inch strip along the top of the windshield. Couldn't see a damn thing in my mirrors at night. I eventually mounted Fog Lights inside facing out the rear window with custom little rubber housings I made to keep the reflection out. Was great for blinding tailgaters. Cops would say something about my tint once in a while, but luckily I was able to talk my way out of being handed a razor blade to remove it. I don't know about other states, but in NJ - some cops will give you the option of either removing your tint, or having your car towed.

That being said, my Protege has 35% tint. It's not so noticable as some peoples tint. Also, my cars color helps it blend in with traffic. I still put down both windows in the front whenever I get pulled over, or when I think a cop may be looking.

I would have gotten 50% tint, but my friend was hooking me up at his shop - and he was almost out of 50%. 50% looks very classy. It's a light tint, but really gives the car a nice look.

mine is 20% all around, though the fronts legally should be 35...so the hell what, its a 106 degrees here the cops dont say s*** because 90 year old ladies have their windows tinted that dark...

Normally, as long as cops can see the driver, they won't stop you. If the tint is so dark that you can't see anything inside, then you're asking for a ticket.

At the end, it mostly depends on the mod of the officer.

I have 35% tint on the front windows ( driver/passenger) and 20% everywhere else. In BC it's illegal to fronts tinted.

I've met a few that seemed to of had their brains removed, and a lot of them are running dangerously high levels of testosterone. Anybody else noticed any good officer mod's?

have 18% all around no windshield strip though... never had a cop even question it, and I've been pulled over about 8 times in 2 years with the yellow cop magnet.
