I got a chance to drive a MS6 the other day and oh my god, it was f*ucken awesome! It was a Steel Grey with white leather/black inserts. The interior was beautiful, not only the seats, but the new grey dash is so much better than the old silver. The seats were very comfortable and had very good support. They weren't recaro's or anything, but they were much better than my protege. The power of this car was incredible. The 6 speed is smooth and has very good feel. The turbo lag was unnoticable and the engine noises were decent for a stock car. A set of high flow mufflers would add just enough additional noise. I think a cat back would be too loud unless you really want the extra power. Anyway, I give it 2 thumbs up!

Yeah, I agree

I managed to get a test ride today, too. It was great! The ride was good and the acceleration was the closest to a motorcycle I've experienced since I had a kid and had to get rid of my old 900cc Yamaha. The clutch is fine despite the whining in that BMW owner's post which was cut and pasted in a previous post. Maybe I just don't know any better, but I disagree with everything that guy said about his test drive impressions. Gearing seems fine, too (anyway you can just pick one and step on the gas!), turbo lag is minimal, and fit and finish are great. I'm ready to dump my '02 Altima SE as soon as my local dealer can get hold of a Sport with minimal options. He says it'll be the week before Christmas, but it will be well worth the wait!

I do have to say that it is kind of quiet, but when you're moving down the road that quickly, you can overlook the lack of a more sporting roar. The way it just whooshes forward reminds me of the turbine-powered Batmobile from the old live action 60s show.

Thanks!
I can't wait for my Titanium GT to arrive at the dealer. He told me today that it's RED FLAGGED at Port Newark and they are trying to expedite getting it delivered. Too bad I don't know what the Red Flag thing is all about..... I hope they're not doing burnouts or autocrossing it. (boom07)
I too hope that other dude is totally wrong about this car. (braindead

burnouts in the speed 6? wouldn't that cause the rear drivetrain to kick on at wheel spin?

Burn out? auto crossing? its AWD and its a mazda. you cant put mazdaspeed 6 and burnout/autocrossing in the same sentence, thats just wrong.

Dude!
I was being sarcastic....... (hand)

you can attempt autocross in one...not shure about burnouts in fwd based AWD cars but AWD cars just hve to have the 2 front tires dig in to thruw back ones around. Been done in manny AWD rentals ;)

Trust me... you can do some decent burnouts with the MS6 any time you want. I can garuntee you that powersliding or drifting comes suprisingly easy also.

fix0r3d ;)

No snow needed. You do have to shut off the pesky traction control though.

Be wary of attempting burnouts on the MPS 6. The transfer case is water cooled for a reason! And there are temp sensors in the rear differential that will shut the car out of AWD mode if the temp reaches a certain preset limit.

Tried a little bit of that today, just to confirm that it could be done...LOL! Of course, my snow tires are wailing after the punishment that they received.

Gotta love the "DSC Off" switch.

you have an MSP and an MS6? I hate you! (cryhard) :)

Either way, not a good idea for any AWD system. I cant get all my 4 wheels smokin, but its hell on the tranny.

you MS6 owners better be hittin the tracks in droves this spring!!

Yep he's right it's the 2.0 awd wagon drivetrain...
