Draxas Off-Road Pipe

Has anyone bought just the off-raod pipe from draxas? I already have a magnaflow exhaust and would like to add the off-road pipe. Anyone know how much gain is possible with the off-raod pipe installed?

The member called "AzMz3" has the draxas off-road pipe. Do a search with this name and you are bound to pull up some stuff, or PM him. :)

The draxas exuast uses a slip fit design where the peices fit togeather. So unless you weld another flange onto the off-road pipe it's not going to work with your exaust

i dont think thats going to work not only because of the slip fit design, but the draxas exhaust is 2.5in the magnaflow is 2.25in.....

This Race Pipe is designed to be used with our Mazda3 Exhaust System. It is 2.5" in diameter, constructed of T-304 Stainless Steel, and is polished to a high luster finish. This Race Pipe eliminates the 2nd catalytic converter from the exhaust system. If you have a different manufacturer's exhaust system installed on your Mazda3, this Race Pipe will bolt up, with very little modification.
So ya it will work, so if anyone wants this i would say definetly get it.

I'm not totally sure about that. Unless Nik has made a completely new pipe the current one for the Draxas exhaust will not work in my mind.
You will have 3 differnt diameter piping to connect together. The stock 2" to the off-road pipe 2.5" to your 2.25" exhaust. I would think you would need somethihng that will connect the 2.5" pipe to your 2.25" exhaust and you should be good. Should not be hard to do, but will just add to the possiblity of having an exhaust leak.
From dyno's of other cars I have seen a 2 - 4whp gain from using an offroad pipe.

And the exhaust note will not change drasticly. It will be just a little louder, but not by much.

Not even close to the same concept.
I did the same on my Focus too so I know exactly what you are talking about. This 2.3L has an unique sound to it. Just wait til the some race headers come out. There is noway it will sound like the Focus 2.0L Zetec.

given every engine sounds different. i was assuming that higher flow mean more rice noise since thats all i ever saw on my focus. aparently my assumption made an ass out of me. i apologize for that.

No appolly needed at all man. That is usually true with most small diplacement 4cylinders, especially with the Focus. You just have to hear the Mazda 2.3L with a straight pipe and you will see what I'm talking about.

yeah stupid warranty. i just saw a picture of what the borla system looks like installed and its awesome. on a side note i saw a 3 hatch with a can muffler and a atx. i laughed long and hard.

so AzMz3...I have a Mazda 3 2.0 and I'm thinking about getting the draxas off road exhaust. Does that mean I will get a ricey sound to my car??

I think that what he is stating above is that you will not get a ricey sound if you get the offroad pipe, just that it will be noticeably louder than what it would with the hi flow cat or standard cat. I have the Hi-Flow cat and love it. That way when I order the Race Header I will still have one cat and be somewhat legal although I probably don't need to worry about that.
