aaahh. I missed that, lol. All night partying last night, just got home. my bad.

It won't go lean if there is nothing to burn. No gas into the combustion chamber makes the engine into a really complicated air pump.

hmmm ok i guess i got scared by the possibility that there might be a little bit of fuel that could make it depending on when exacly in the cycle the fuel cut occured

good stuff to know. thanks

Even if there is a really small amount of fuel left in the combustion chamber more than likely it won't be enough to ignite. If there is enough fuel to ignite it def. won't be enough to be strong enough to produce power or damage anything.

yeah, would you rather have a bunch of un burned fuel in your combustion chamber, or just a bunch of air? That's why it cuts fuel.

In fact. If you floor the car with it off, and then try to start the car, it will never start. It's a built in trick mazda did. Flooring the car when starting it cuts the fuel pump off. This way you can use the starter to turn the car over, pump oil, and so on, without actually starting the car. I used this to pump oil on my turbo when I first installed it, without starting the car.

I have no doubt the car could run 105, nearly stock, with stock tires. With a piggy back ignition, easily done. I was wondering what rpm is the turbo supposed to kick in on a 2003.5 Mazda Speed? and at what rpm is it supposed to hit full boost? I'm not much of a turbo head. This my first experience with turbo.

Mpi tuner(piggy back fuel/timing controller), turbo back exhasut, fmic, intake, motor mounts, boost controller, colder plugs And most of all practice, also to do this somewhat safer if you will be raceing alot , get some forged internals if you plan on running boost higher than 10psi. although there is blkzoomzm who did 13.15 with barley any mods, so you may want to talk with him

I just bought a used MSP w/20000 miles. How can I run 13.xxx . What are the best mods to do

hes still had an MPI though... and slicks. Traction is going to make a huge difference with our cars. Any street tire just wont be able to provide enough to get ya down the 1320 in a nice time.

I'm gonna prove that statement wrong this year. 12's W/ stock potenzas.

Haha...i will praise you...these stock tires suck..i cant wait to get something new..but im going to try and make one pass down the strip with the stockers and low boost..

Its all about the alignment and suspension set-up. I have been working on a few tricks that should help alot.

Sounds good make sure you let us know what they are .......I mean how they work out..(2thumbs)

What are the "tricks", I have never had a mazda or a turbo car. I have a $2000 that I can spend. I would like to keep alot of that for myself so please please please tell me these tricks

What kind of trap speeds (IN GENERAL) are associated with a 13.0 run?
I realize that's somewhat of a loaded question.

look at the 1st post in this thread ... you'll see everybody's time with trap speed. should give you an idea

What is the boost set at for a stock 2003.5 MSP, and is the actuator adjustable in stock format or does it have to be replaced with an adjustable one. Also, what is considered a safe zone over stock or is there a considered one?

Thanks for suggestion to take a look at the first post. Any how I'm surprised to see how slow all the stock times are. I just goof around everyday when I leave for work and WAY less than an 1/8 mile can pull 0-60mph so seems like over 90mph by the 1/4 should be a walk in the park. Wonders if most of those times are set during the afternoon and night, because the car is just so much faster in the morning when the oxygen is better.

Your car isnt heatsoaked yet when you pull out.. and yes it is soo much faster about 15hp faster before it gets heatsoaked according to my gtech

You can pull 2.1's with stock tires and wheels.. i think that is well quick enough to get a fwd car down the track

Ok, got my new times last weekend: 14.236 @ 98.90 mph. Hope to be in the 13's before the end of summer!

My time slip is on my car domain page 5 "racing". it is the first slip
