Has anyone had this problem? I just installed apexr1 dp with high flow cat. Under normal driving no clunk against c.m. Under hard throttle you can here it clunk every time you slam the throttle. Anyone expierence this problem? The sales rep at apexr1 said to add washers to c.m. to give a little more space. Your opinion would help......

you can try the Gt Spec front 4 point ladder bar plus front lower tie bar for clearance problems. Also make sure you put the rubber hangers back on.

That would deff. fix the problem, but why not add a couple of washers on each bolt of the c.m. to lower it a little. Just enough so the c.m. bolts still tighten down. Would there be a problem with this?

I had the same problem. What I did was place a piece of rubber between the crossmember and the dp. It worked for me. Let me know how it turns out. Peace

I also had the same problem, but I just put stiffer exhaust hangers from Kartboy on it. Fixed the prob. Might as well do that it's a good mod too.

Don't cheap out liek that. Sounds like something a Honda owner would do. (no)
Get new hangers in the mean time if you're on budget or use a piece of rubber on the cross member like suggested.

Well got bushings from kartboy and solved dp problem. I must say adding dp with high flow cat to a custom 2.5 catback exhaust to the stock muffler is good. The power gains were deff. noticeable. You figure this setup only cost me 500.00 dollars and the gains are great. I've always been an acura freak and for 500.00 dollars you could not see gains like this period. On my rsx type s I had comptech header hondata 4 and v2 intake. Yea it was mean when ivetc took over, but that's it. There is no doubt in my mind that the msp will whoop up on the acura and many others just with basic mods.
Next inline will be hard pipes, ebc and going to get a short block out of a junk yard and start building.

Cool... that's what I'm doing, as soon as I get the DP!!!
Did you have them route the pipe the same way it is stock? Or under? So you just had them weld the muffler to the 2.5" pipe? Any issues or concerns I should tell the guy bending it for me? Is it regular pipe, or stainless steel? How about the resonator... new one, or did you keep it off?

I kept the res. off. I had everything constructed in fac position. The car is not loud I promise. It sounds awesome. The pipe is not stainless, but thats nothing to have replaced. So everything is still in fac location. Plus I purchased kart boy hangers because dp was hitting cross member a little. This one of the best mods I have ever spent money on........

Good deal! I'll hold off on the hangers until I have it done, maybe mine won't hit the cross member. One more question... did you have them weld the pipe to the DP, or had them weld a flange so you could bolt it? Also... did the pipe go all the way to the muffler with no bolts? oops... that was two questions.
