Door panel separate?

Long story short, my car was broken into from the rear passenger door window, and I'm now left with this mess to clean up. I have to decide to go with my insurance ($500 deductible) or fix it myself. The window replacement was quoted to me around $200 from a few places. But the problem is the inside panel that's right below the window was scratched too. The body shop I went to yesterday quoted me $300 for the door panel, he said because it's one piece and I have to replace the entire door panel, even though it looks like it's its own separate piece. It's the piece right below the window where the door handle embeds in. So I'm wondering if anyone have any information, or know how I would be able to find out, if I in fact have to replace the whole door panel or if I can just purchase the upper trim for replacement?

This affects my decision if I would claim my insurance or not. It's a horrible thing to happen and I went to bed last night hoping I'd wake up and it would have been just a dream. What they took worth less than the window replacement alone. But it's what it is, and despite my heartache, I have to fix my baby.

The door card is a one piece assembly as ordered from Mazda. It may be possible to physically separate certain subcomponents, but you won't be able to purchase these separately.

whatever you do dont call the insurance company unless it will cost over $2000 to fix. My 2007 Tacoma windshield was cracked by a rock that was kicked up on the freeway and they are still charging me a higher rate for something that was unavoidable and not my fault. I have changed insurance twice since it happened back in 2010 and I am still paying for it. A bunch of blood suckers.

I ended up claiming with insurance since they will repair/replace the cuts and scratches on my leather seat from this as well. I don't think I can stomach $2k worth of repair since I only started working in March, and with seats included, it might as well be in the $1000 range. The thing that person broke my window to steal was worth maybe $100 if even...

I have very good credit score and never had an accident in my life, so here's to hope no rate increase. Although last month my car did get hit and run while in a drive way so I had to repair that. The world just won't leave my baby alone...
