Doing a Custom FMIC

woah i wish i would have known all this!!!

2 questions... with the piping kit, is that core = 24 or with end tanks 24?

this is the IC i bought

6ma1.jpg

Core size: 25 wide X 5.875 tall X 2.75 deep

Overall: 30 from outside of end tank to outside of end tank X 6.5 tall X 3.125 at the thickest

Standard Piping: 2.5 OD X .065 wall X 2 long

also will your piping kit work with this end tank design? or could it be incorperated to do so? if so i'd be more than happy to give you the business.

(i think i will need to remove the fogs and run the IC pipe through where the fogs were. which i am willing to do)

We use a 24" core. Yes, our piping kit will work with that intercooler.

I DON"T GET PAYED TIL NEXT THURS!!!!! ok i gotta borrow the cash from me mum and order it so it can be in before crunkapalooza! haha then i'm gonna need to get wideband tuned for the AFC since the FMIC messes everything up... MAM you're a GODSEND and stanby for my order... should i PM when i'm ready?

personally i suggest everyone go this route, you can't beat it for a tube fin core 185 shipped and pipes 130!!!! that's just upwards of 300 for a sweet FMIC!

so mental addiction... these pipes are aluminum correct?

wow!, I wasn't aware that you sold just the piping. I wish I knew that or else I wouldn't have done it myself. 175$ for a spearco IC core.......sounds to good to be true. You must be selling at cost or are buying a ton of spearco cores for cheap and adding the endtanks yourself.....or is that just for the price of a core without endtanks? Seems like I recall the spearco of that size to be around 400-500$ everywhere else. I'll be buying that as soon as possible if thats the cost with endtanks included.

What does the piping kit include for that price? If you'll sell just the hotpipe, consider it bought by me. I didn't know your kit ran the hotpipe that way.......does it wedge between where the core support and underguard bolt together? I would like to know the thickness and metal used.

Am I missing something here? Why would somebody pay 1k for your kit if they can buy the individual parts for it at less than half the cost.

so excited... too bad i didn't see killer prices on cores before i bought mine.. could always upgrade in the future and sell the one i just bought. also too bad i won't have the money to order in time for mazdapalooza.

oh WOW i hope that really works because it definately has a spot to relocate the MAFS! and i just found out that MAM's kit is mild steel... are there any advantages to this since it's heavier.... do the MAM full FMIC kits come with mild steel or just the piping they're selling?

hey sickspeed
i have been waiting to buy that same IC you have
and doing some research on pipes as well
let me know how it all turns out

soon as i have the money for this Ebay kit i'll be buying/installing it... will take pics and let everyone know how it runs... although it may be a little off until i figure out how i'm going to remedy the airflow AFC/FMIC problem... i heard all you have to do is use the supermap.

also... just talked to the ebay guy. there is no bending necessary for the aluminum piping kit but some cuting may be necessary (comeon... it's aluminum... hack saw and a file will do the trick!) i'll be purchasing at the LATEST thursday so as soon as it comes in i'll do a writeup, pics, and etc.

I Did A Custom Fmic On My Msp And It Only Cost Me $700. I Did All The Installation And Fabricating To Make Everything Look Neat And Clean. I Think That Custom Fmic Are The Way To Go If U Want To Make Adjustsments To Things And Want A Certain Size On Different Parts. Buying One Is Easier For One Who Doesnt Like To Fabricate Things Or Like Customizing Other Things To Get The Fmic Of Your Choice To Fit In Your Bumper.

Would you or anyone know what the biggest size core can fit behind the bumper without cutting into the frame or the bumper support beam??

can a core with the size of 28x6x3.5 fit??

6 inch wide is the only thhat will fit without cutting bumper support beam ad you will still have to cut the bumper

thanks, found that out and ended makin someone mad by asking too many repitive questions. But good to know now and for future reference.

and 3.5 will be slightly too thick but from the way my 3 inch fit it could work.

I'd like to see other people's Custom IC piping...any pics would be cool. I might have to end up saving for a full set-up If I can't find some piping that can work with what I'm lookin at....
