Does installing a remote car starter void warranty?

I asked the guys at my local dealerships. The strongly recommend having it installed by them. Obviously one reason is because they want your money and a dealership will typically charge more than your average aftermarket installer. The other reason is that you can always go back to them if something goes wrong and if they install it, it will not void the warranty.

Is it a "Mazda" car starter they install, or do you bring them one you bought and they put it in? Im a newbie when it comes to starters :)

its NOT called an M3!!!!!!!!

lol.

Thats a BMW M3.
Mazda 3= MAZDA 3
or just ' i have a 3'

not sure about the mazda 3.

something above and over keyless entry/panic?

no car company in my knowledge in the same class as mazda offers remote car starter.

Ask your local dealership. They will either recommend some "approved" models and a shop to have it done at or have one of those guys come in and do it at their shop. That how it works over here anyways.

Oh and pdhaudio ... we know BMW makes the M3. Did you already complain about this in another thread? Relax dude. It's not the end of the world. This is a Mazda board; we know he's talking about the Mazda 3. :p

Mazda doesn't offer a car starter. But if you want one, I'd suggest contacting your dealer. My dealer mentioned the car starter while going through the rustproofing, extended warranty, etc... part of the negotiations (clearly my dealer is associated with a car starter/alarm company). I declined on all these things, but this is the safest route to take (warranty-wise) if you want a car starter.

wong: do you have an idea how much it cost at the dealership for the car starter?

Anyone have some info with car starter at dealer? the only thing I wouldn't want is to carry is 2 remotes, one for car starter and one for keyless entry.

Call Bank Street, Carling, or Performance. They'll be able to help you dude. It all depends on the models they offer. As far as the FOBs (remotes) are concerned, you can usually program the aftermarket FOB to work with the factory keyless entry. Sometimes they can even program the factory FOB to work with the aftermarket starter.
