Does anyone have this short oem antenna?

Welcome to the forums! The reception should be great, you may lose some AM reception though. I had an antenna about 1/3 that size (only 4" long) on my Protege5 and it was great, and now I have a Honda S2000 antenna (6" or so) and it's still great.

i would try and see if you can order a cx-7 antenna from your local dealer as its a oem stubby and shouldn't have any affect on signal and looks a bit better then that imo...

i would rather get the shark fin antenna painted to match the body color. i think it looks so much better, a little more upscale.

hahaha no i don't have any... its still sittin on my counter as it rained all day sunday... and i have no garage.. :(

plus i am debating about waiting till i get either a satalite radio antenna or a gps antenna and hide it underneat the shark fin..

i have seen the pics so i will dig one up for you. hatch or sedan?

EDIT***** for pics.. sorta..

here is a link to the site that made the sharkfin.. they have tons of pics of mazda 3 hatches and sedans as well as other cars to see... good stuff

for everyone still looking for a short antenna, i want to point your attention to this site:

http://www.carccessory.com/product.asp?key=Stubby_Short_Antenna_

The plain black one, 2.55 inches is on this site for 5.99 plus 5 shipping. The reception is 3 out of 5, and at that price I'll take it. I dont listen to the radio all that much, and at 10.99 shipped I think it is a great deal. I used paypal beacuse I am not familiar with the site, but if you still want a stubby antenna you should check out that site, they have other type of stubbys as well!!!

I put the CX-7 antenna on before I left the dealership the day I bought my car. It fits perfectly, and reception is fine (since I took the stocker off before I even drove the car, I can't give you a good comparison). Unless you are planning to hid a gps or satellite antenna under the sharkfin, IMO the CX-7 (or the Acura RDX stubby) is the ticket.
