Does anyone have Mazda3 Rims on there P5 ?

the 3 wheels are to chunky looking. they scream "stock wheels".

I actually want to keep mine stock looking... nice and clean; just can't stand the MP5 '02 Wheels... My P5's silver so it would look pretty simple, don't like chrome and can't find the rims I like in silver... so any rim "but" the OEM 02 rims would be great.

So if I can find these cheap, with low profile tires and a 1.5 drop... I'm all for it....from there all I want next is that front lip and I'm done.

Thanks again for the pic's and comments guys !!!! (first)

Here are mine, i love them. I like the chunky thick spokes of it, and the look mimics the look of the RX-8 wheels without being nearly as expensive...

not to mention you can run real tires on them, not flipping 35-series rubber bands

pfft. rubber bands turn on a dime.

rx8 rims > mp3 rims > msp rims > 3 rims > 2003 p5 rims > 2002 p5 rims

Hmmmmm I dunno. After looking at all the different stock wheels I still think the Mazda 6 look the best, imo. Anyone else have pics of a P5 with M6 wheels?

How is your ride on a 40 series tire? Im rolling 215/35/18's on my P5 (stock RX-8's). I think im going to switch to Stock Mazda3 wheels, but wasn't sure if a 40 series tire would make any difference. THe 35 series tires i have right now are pretty ROUGH...

215/35/18 Rx8 wheels vs. 205/40/17 MZ3 wheels

Will the switch from 18's to 17's ease my ride????

On the Mazda3 wheels you could actually manage a 205/45. I doubt you'll see a difference going from 215/35/18 to 205/40/17.

With actual numbers, you're talking about having a 3.0 inch sidewall vs. a 3.2 inch sidewall. With a 205/45 it bumps that up to 3.6", for an overall tire 0.3" taller than what you currently have.

So will a 45 series tire work with it lowered on Eibachs???

Well right now your tire is 18 + 3 + 3 = 24" tall.
17+3.6+3.6 = 24.2"? Think you can go 1 tenth of an inch farther up from the center of the wheel without it hitting anything? Considering that I think the MP3 came with 205/45 and the MSP came with 215/45, both on 17" wheels, you should be ok. I wouldn't try to run 215/45 on a lowered p5 though, no way.

I'm running 215/45-17s on a +50mm rim and dropped 2", no rubbing 99% of the time

only get slight rubbing when:
-turning extremely tight, rubs on front fender
-on huge bumps when loaded down in the rear, rubs on inner wheel well lining

Yup, sedan for the win I guess. The P5 doesn't have as much room in the rear fenders.

I'm running 215/40/17 on my M3 rims. They don't feel that rough, I also like the look a lot better: I don't like to much rubber around my wheels...
