do you share?

My wife is good with a Manual Trans but will not drive my car. I dont know if when I first got it she was driving and something happened (power got away from her or scared her) but after the first month or so of having it she wont drive it any more, AT ALL! Other than that I let my freinds drive it whenever they want. They have MS3's MS6's or Civic si's and the like so we are always swapping cars.

AHHH makes sense now

the one thing I miss about crook county

I have lived in a whole buncha places, and I always enjoy how well that area drives
lane usage, merging, taking your f%$in turn when it is your turn

just seems to be fewer douches on the road

screw the weather though, salt, slush, dead batteries, shoveling snow

Fixed! :)

No one drives my car but me, except for when it went to the dealer for the radio TSB. My wife can drive a stick, but it's been a while ('89 Corolla LE).

I've let a couple friends drive mine at autocross or on back roads. I got to trade seat time with a friend's E46 M3, which was pretty fun.

I can relate, I'll let my friend drive my car for seat time in his e46 M3 6 MT. not a bad trade.

I'll let my dad drive my car whenever he wants, but my siblings will never drive it they all got their own cars!! I might let my brother use it when he needs to but he'd better let me borrow his truck!

Nope

My wife can drive manual but she doesn't want to drive the speed3, just for the simple fact that when we ride together, she rather be a passenger than the driver.

let my younger brother attempt to drive it in an empty parking lot. after failing miserably, he turned to me and said "dont worry i wont be joyriding in this, cant get the damn thing to move" Even ppl that have driven clutches cant figure this one out at first. so its mostly me.

and +1 on the cop story

I request the full story.(five-0)

As long as someone has owned a stick recently, and I trust them, I'll let them give it a spin with me in it. Other than that? not really...

I think I posted it once somewhere else a while back when it happened... but here you go:

My neighbor is a DC cop who has taken all of their combat / defensive driving courses. He even went away to learn the SWAT driving course (Not sure what that entails). I have ridden with him before, and he can spin a car around at 30 MPH and just keep going.... It is impressive. That said, I felt I would let him do it for a few reasons:

1) He clearly knows how to handle a car far better than the average person and has been professionally trained to do so.
2) If he gets pulled over, it is all on him.
3) If we do wreck, there won't be any suffering. (aka...Instant death.)

So... We took the car out on a virtually empty and clear stretch of road (2 Lane divided HWY with a 20 ft. wide grass median) around 6 pm. There were no trees... no hidden entrances... and only one on ramp for about 5 miles. Visbility was excellent. Best it was going to get.

He took off... I told him to watch the road, I would watch the speedometer. By the time we got to 148, we could see a car up ahead... So we had to call it quits. I want to point out the car was still pulling at 148... So she had more to give!

I was amazed how stable the car felt as well. No shaking, no harsh wind noise, and really smooth.

well i got a ms6 ive let my mom drive it the first day i had it she started it from a stop in 3rd gear lol she told me that shes not used to driving 6speeds lol and i let my gf drive it when ever..but she has a speed3 and the cars shes had before where a (cobalt ss,srt4, mazda 3 2.3 hatch) and she lets me drive them whenever lol

GF drives mine around town and we take her truck to do "truck" things.
also i let others drive when ive been drinking. i rarely let people drive it when im not there though.
im actually more of a chouffer when im up at school cuz im one of the few with a car in my group of friends.
i let my dad drive it because he helped me with the loan, and he drives it like he stole it. i didnt realize when i first got it that you can get up to 80 in third...
my gas mileage is cut about in half when he drives it...
