Do you like Ferraris????

I like 'em well enough. Not as much as Porsches mind you, but i like them just fine.

Porsche has been and always will be my favorite car company/designer, etc.

That's a crapload of pictures! If someone gave me a Ferrari I certainly wouldn't complain....I've liked the styling of the newer ones a lot more than the classics from years ago...give me the nice sleek lines of a Modena anyday!

How many here have actually got to ride in one of the high performance Ferraris.....or better yet...to actually drive one? That'd be a dream come true!

I've never sat in a ferarri, but the closest thing to an exotic I've sat in is my friend's dad's M3. When he gassed the thing, I literally got punched back into my seat. Crazy stuff. Can't imagine what a Ferarri feels like.

actually...now that i think about it...a ferrari is like the only thing i haven't sat in...bimmers, porsches, nsx, corvettes but never a ferrari...hmmmmm...gotta meet somebody who owns a ferrari...

This is the nicest car I've had the priviledge of sitting in and driving.

nice...i think one of the craziest cars that i've driven is a new corvette z06...405hp to the rear wheels makes for a scary ride...but that engine screams at WOT...

Do I like Ferraris? Boy, I hate these trick questions. Sure, Ferraris rock...but I agree with Chris (StuttersC), I'll take the German engineering of a Porsche 996 or a BMW M3 convert as soon as I perfect printing money on my Commodore C64.

Bob

However, if a Ferrari comes in tomorrow's mail, I will not return to sender! (Just want to clarify that...)

I drove a 348 gtb and a F355. I have also driven uhh I think it was a 98 turbo porshe. I think there is nothing more distinctive looking then an older classic ferrari...my favorite is a 62 250 gto calafornia special.
Porsches and high dollar german cars are nice, feels like you have excellent communication and control of the car, but a ferrari ahhhhhh ferrari's they dont even compare. Once you sink into that robust smelling conoly hide and blip the throttle on an engine that sounds formula 1 and snick the shifter into the gate.....now thats a ****** car!!!! Its on another level, unlike the porsches that give you ultimate control a ferrari feels like it is an extension of your body and soul, like its almost telepathic.........beyond explanation really. Dont get me wrong I like porshes and skylines but a ferrari is another level.......I could even go as far to say that its better than sex:eek: And I love sex!

The 1962 250 GTO California Special* is a fine looking automobile...my other Ferrari fav was the 69-72 Daytona coupe and convertibles. Got to have the Euro covered headlights though, instead of the stupid popup lights they had to put in because of US Regs.

*Watch "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"...it's the Ferrari owned by Cameron Frye's dad.

I have this awesome classic car book called "The Encyclopedia of Classic Cars" and their is a pic of a 1962 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso...now thats one sexy car...absolutely beautiful...are we talking about the same car BondoBob?

My fav modern Ferrari is the 360 Modenaneed to buy more lotto tickets.

Oh...one time I was cruzing along sunset and stopped at a red light...along side me rolls up a (not sure what model) V12 Ferrari and just at idle the car sounded so sweet..then came one of the most beautiful sounds known to man as the guy accelerated...I was in heaven...I seriously think the Ferrari exhaust is tuned to activate certain chemicals in a persons brain.

Well, I was sort of wrong...the car in the 1986 movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" was an 1961 Ferrari 250 GTO California Special. Turns out (I looked it up) that they used 4 replicas filming the movie.

Next time you watch the flick...look for this: Cameron is trying to turn back the miles put on during their drive by running the car at high-revs backward while the rear end is jacked up (with a bumper jack!!). One shot shows the gauges inside the car with the mighty engine wailing away...except the tach is sitting at zero RPM. Watch for it!

No Antoine that is not the same car. The one your are thinking about was perhaps the pinnacle of ferrari autoracing in the sixties. With the elongated hood and chrome bezeled lights with covers, very similar to an e type Jag. That as well is a very beautiful car and actually sold at an auto auction in the late eighties(when ferraris where at ridiculous prices) for 16million dollars:eek: . Bondo is right the 62 is slightly different thrn the 61. It had more of an MG look to it(I love british roadsters) Even though the car in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" was also an exquisite ride. I also loved the testarossas from the late 50's man those were hot!!!!!!!
