i had a guy tell me a should put a BOV on my dads f350 the other day (dunno)
...i gave up on trying to explain to him why it wouldnt really do anything and trying to convince him i was in fact running around 25psi

then he tried racing me as i left and i left him in a cloud of black smoke =]

hybrids still vent air, just less of it.

right right, but i'm saying they cause no rich conditions like a total VTA setup, atleast my TXS unit causes no such issues. it's perfect, so, you can't necessarily equate the sound discussed with the guy you were talking to, with an inefficiency on our cars...

that's all i'm saying

:)

I understand completly, but I'm nit-picky, no matter how it's worked, it's less air being re-used for combustion, mabye your unit is more effecient than the ones commonly used for my car, but the most anyone has recorded is about 70% re-circ in the s4, which is still enough to cause recordable rich running, which is pretty bad considering the k03 borg warner pos's are fragile as is(which is probaly making me biased).. but of course none of this pertiains to his car.. or this forum for that matter..
(poke)

if it can recirc enough air then its' great for those looking to have the best of both worlds, but I still wouldn't buy it. That's just my opinion, nothing else.

doh! yep, i def forgot you were rocking an audi, hehe

since when is a bov rice?

it falls along the same lines as cherry bombs, 10000w subwoofers with no dynamat , whistle tips, 12000k xenons, wings from a boeing, altezza tail lights, buick diamond vents...

they all scream "look at me!!! i have no legitimate functionality other than to make you look over here!!!"

Yeah my friend with a Subi WRX does that to me too. "You should have got a WRX and had all wheel drive". Yeah the car EVERYONE out there has. FUN FUN.

I would reply...

oh is that a honda?
a civic?
why didnt you just the the nsx its faster?
ass face!

I hate kids!

I've come to the realization that I am a ricer when it comes to the turbo. If I could make mine sound like a shop vac and an exploding pressure-cooker between shifts I would.

I think if you look took that extra 18K you mentioned and dumped it into your MS3, well Id assume you would have a much much faster car then any STI.

Doubtfull. Put 18k into the speed3 and the engine will blow up

if you put 18k into your ms3 and dont reinforce the internals, then you are a moron and deserve it when you car blows up and when you b**** about your car being a pos because it blew up, then you should be kicked in the head for being a stupid ****

me too; and i don't care if anyone thinks
just curious, because the average new ms3 is what, 23-25...that would mean the sti would be 40k+, which it isn't. in fact some people were just picking them up for around 30k or less not too long ago....

the sti is way more upgradeable, and in a more reliable manner than our cars, you know. sure, it's expensive, but it does run mid 4 second 0-60 and has awd. downsides, some, in addition to the price, but i'd put up a new sti with a few k into it vs. any street ms3 out there. in fact i'd put a new WRX with a few K into it vs. any of our street ms3 on any of these forums. you can love the heck out of our car, but let's not lose our senses here!!!! it's an awesome car for the money, but it's not a world beater.

Due to the fact of the current economic situation... Anyhow STI's MSRP is $35,660 which is on average 10k more than any MS3... The train of thought I have is you *CAN build a better car than a factory STI with the MS3 platform and 10k.. Easily. I wish the factory MS3 was AWD, that would really shut up a lot of people!

I'd just put $18k into the custom awd system and leave the engine the same (except maybe preventing boost limit in 1st and 2nd). But then again it might end up costing more than that anyway

Forged con rods or not the computer needs to be tuned and that's not really happening right now.

Man I wish I saw a STI going for $30k, I woulda bought it! I saw used ones going for that much.

That said the MS3 has pretty much everything I want. AWD would be great if I went to drag strips, but I don't, and I value the better gas milage over the ability to launch that fast. Once off the line the MS3 has all the get up and go one could ask for. One of the better reviews I read mentioned that the car is not limiteded by a lack of power or torque, but by traction and gear ratios. And that seems to hold true for me. The biggest killer when punching the gas is the chirping wheels and the fact that you have to shift about 18 times before 60mph. (ok, 18 might be a slight exaggeration)

As for the AWD mod, didn't someone figure out you could do it for less then $5k? Isn't there a AWD 3 sold in japan?

Oh, my uncle used to have a turbo diesel beetle! It was fast... almost.
