i dont do them often lol just a few. i dont wanna kill my tires and car

thats just your uneducated opinion. when it comes to performance the sti beats the evo x around numerous tracks and the top gear track. their 0-60 and qm numbers are very close, so I dont know where your getting your info from but look again. most of the major magazines say the interior is better in the sti, and that its great as a daily driver. Again not sure where you are getting your info from...

Nope, actually it's the other way around. Sorry the facts cause you anal pain, the new STI is a crap compared to the EVO. You need to do some research before opening your suck. The facts are the facts and the facts according to about 90% of publications state the EVO is a much better car than the STI. You're living on some other planet if you actually want to debate this.

sti is faster 0-60 and in the qm(watch the video in my previous post). It has better lap times on numerous tracks, although they are very close. People could go back and forth all day on which is better, but the 2 links I provided point to the sti. what do you have other than your loud mouth. I dont give much merit to what you think, seeing as you have a car that still requires a cool down period and is way behind in the advancements other car companies have made....obviously not smart

heres another link. the sti wins in all excelleration tests and braking.

an evo or sti pulls up next to me, revving and all that, i'm gonna laugh at them... then take off nice and easy as they go into full launch...

yeah... i would be an easy kill..... maybe. i don't even care... street racing is for dorks... more so for a lopsided match up...

now a vtec something... or maybe even a 350z...hmmmmm

haha vtec doesnt stand a chance against a speed3! You would have to pull one spark plug to make that a fair race! im not trying to start a fight with the whole evo sti thing, just think people should be able to back it up when they talk out of their butt

A G35 automatic with a psychotic driver with his foot to the floor is a tough contender. Trust me on this one.

g35s can be pretty fast. the newer models have 330hp, and it puts up some pretty good numbers. Under 14 in the qm and low 5s 0-60!

overheard while filling up with gas in dallas...

'thats a toooorbo in that mazda, i think'

'if i had my stage 1 and a tooooorbo, i could take it'

as they both get back in a clapped out POS dodge neon... no hub caps, black wheels, big sheet metal wing on the back and of course the ubiquitous all white body kit and folgers can muffler...

and OF COURSE they have to pull out as LOUD AS POSSIBLE. and nearly plow into someone as they are both neck jerked around to make sure i am looking at them.... LAFFFIN OUT LOUD!

what is all this stage 1, stage 2, stage this or that crap?

+1 i dont really understand the "stages" either :(

almost every car brand has differnt stages. Evos, stis, srt4s, as well as many domestics have various stages that include different parts. for example a stage 1 package for a sti or evo would usually be a cai and possibly a mild tune or downpipe, whereas stage 2 involves removal or modification of the cat and turbo back exhaust, as well as different boost levels. domestics have different heads and cams that go along with the stages. Your mods determine what stage your at. I know the cobb access port that subaru and now mazda use have different maps on them(stage1,2, and custom maps).

i understand the 'kit' route... a stage 1 kit (and the parts involved.. usually from one manufacturer) makes sense... and i guess the dodges do have stage upgrades for their cars... raise my rent.

i'm still very new to the import gig, mind you, but i also think it just gives guys who don't know anything about their cars, or anything about cars, a way to sound cool... it sounds kinda playstation (grand turismo comes to mind)..

case in point:

i'm eager to hear anything about guys working on imports these days (have pity, i'm older.. i know a different car world than you).. so while at the tint shop the other day a kid comes in and is asking about some kind of jeep part (it's a 4X4 place.. HUGE trucks)... and eyes the speed, asks if i have done anything to it... he points out his honda civic, an older one... clean, with some nice looking rims, and the normal wing on the back...

him: yeah, i'm gonna go with a full stage 3 on this bad boy...

me: really? (thinking wow, that sounds cool, maybe this guy knows his stuff) ... so what does that involve? who makes the kit?

him: oh, i don't know any of that, i just know i'm gonna give my friend 500 bucks and he is going to do it for me...

me: oh.

the conversation turned to other things... at least he didn't want to go race, or anything, and didn't start talking about those damn subies :)... he seemed like a nice guy... maybe 20ish... one of the guys who knew him even joked about him not knowing crap about cars...

i just think a 'stage 3' on a civic would involve a lot of input by the owner of the car... and it seems like a term kinda loosely tossed around... one man's stage 3 is another man's stage 1...

hmmmm.... in my best estimation, my old SS nova might have been a 'stage 2'... not very flush rims, AEC (analog engine control) meaning you tuned it all by hand with a screwdriver, timing light, tach, and vacuum gauge.... it had an LSD big time... we just called it positraction. a CAI was my big k&n element under my z-28 chrome lid, my MAF was a holley 750...

unlike all hondas, we all had STEC cam shafts, all it took was a saturday afternoon and you had a new cam profile..... short rebalanced shifter by HURST. mickey thompson and hoosiers with a wear rating of about 20.
