well, first of all. i am not sitting here saying that my p5 is a sports car. it is a sport compact. also, i drive an rx7 turbo II as my sports car. i would suggest to all of you that think you are driving a sports car; first, go and drive a real sports car and see what it feels like. second, get out of your ricer mentality because that's all that this is. you are a generation of car owners ruined by Fast and the Furious.

and about the track comment, how do you hit corners so well when you are torque steering? the car doesn't make a good drag racer because of the fact that it has traction problems.

You obviously didn't comprehend a word I typed. But hey I got to hand it to you! You must gotz some pretty huge e-ballz to insult like 51 members at the same time on the internetz :)

i corrected your grammar for you as well. for rule of thumb next time, if you can replace whom with him, you used it correctly. if you cannot, it requires a who, not whom.

OmG OnZ! I used incorrect grammar on a motor head forum!!! Sorry buddy but that was a feeble attempt at you trying to look smart on the internets. I make typos all the damn time as do most ppl on here. Are you going to go around and correct everyone's typo's now?? Are do you only to it for people that disagree with you? By the way, the first letter of a sentence is capitalized! Oh fail!!!

Bordeline Fanboism going down here...

American Heritage Dictionary - sports car
n. An automobile equipped for racing, especially an aerodynamically shaped one-passenger or two-passenger vehicle having a low center of gravity and steering and suspension designed for precise control at high speeds.

5 passengers and trunk space = not a sports car

So would this make a tiburon a sports car?

think about it......

Anyway, it does not look like a sports car one bit and it does not have the attitude of a true sports car but i still think it does a lot better than some "sports cars" out on the market now.

Again, guys:

1. built on 5 door hatch back family car platform
2. has hooks for baby seats in the back
3. has built in attachments for a roof rack
4. can be equipped with tow hitch
5. cargo nets

This isn't a sports car. It's fast, it's fun, and that's more than enough. It doesn't need some stupid label.

Your feeble attempt at a comeback is fail. Epic style.

Have at least a little pride, "Are do you only to it..."? wtf?

Cool! I wasn't aware it had built in attachments for a roof rack! :)

you are a generation of car owners ruined by Fast and the Furious.

Way to make generalizations. I think it's safe to say that MS3 owners cover many generations of people, obviously. Telling people that they're ignorant and need to go drive a REAL race car isn't gonna make you any friends. If you've got beef with Ghost, so be it. Leave us out of it please.

Well said!

Although it might not be considered as "sports car" it sure does feel like one when your inside driving the hell out of it.(drive2)

actually, it sounded like you were trying to sound smart on the internet (or internets, however the hell you understand it). i was correcting it because you were sounding like a pompous ass, not necessarily because you were wrong.

fair enough. a lot of people now-a-days have been ruined by Fast and the Furious. believe me, i am 24 and people think that i am just some ricer when my cars are nothing rice at all. i will try to leave you all out of it when i hear ricer comments on the boards.

Leave the ricer comments to the ignoramous folks.... if you get all butt hurt because someone calls your wagon rice..maybe it is?

Anyway, I don't consider my MS3 to be a sports car... just a faster version of the regular wagon 3.... you know, the "Speed" variety...

I agree as well. I don't necessarily agree with Ghost, but there is no need to be like that.

Considering how good the MS3 is, I think Mazda would be wise to lift the engine and suspension from it and place it in a RWD 2-door coupe. The MX-5 is the curring place-holder for the 'sports car' title at Mazda, but they need a hardtop as well (IMO).

Regardless of it's power or handling prowess, being FWD pretty much disqualifies it from sports car status. If you can't steer from either end (by steering or sending power to the rear), it's not a sports car. And before anyone suggest grabbing the parking brake to steer with the rear wheels...it's not the same.

The MX-5 is available in a hardtop. And I think some RX-8 owners would disagree.

I don't think a Miata makes enough power to be considered a sports car. I think of it as more of a oversized street legal go cart.
