Hi, earlier this week I brought my car to a mechanic to have my link kits changed. A day after that, my car started to make some noises when I'm driving at low speed. I'm having a hard time to describe that noise, but it seems a bit like a spring that would snap back in position, making a brief, low-pitch sound. The noise is relatively loud and it happens once in a while when I'm driving straight (especially if I hit bumps), but I noticed that whenever I turn left the car makes the sound 90% of the time. If I do some slalom, I hear it every time I move the wheels left.

I checked under my car, but I could not find anything obviously wrong. I'm not sure if it's related to the link kits I had changed, but it does sound like it's related to direction or suspension. I'm a bit concerned that it might be dangerous too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kari

I read more about my problem and found two possible causes: 1) bad wheel bearing and 2) bad CV joint. Since the sound stops as I go faster, it seems to me like the CV joint might be causing the problem. Would that make sense?

In the end the sound was coming from the badly installed link kits. All fixed now.
