ohh, and an important thing. When making the character, the check box's at the bottom, make sure the hardcore and ladder are not highlighted. Only the expansion one should be.

well, ladder characters are like in a competition game and after a while the game restarts an so does your character. plus I won't be able to help you because I am non-ladder.
Here's a trick...works on US East at least.1sty said:
Create a game with a password and make sure you allow at least two players and set the levels appropriate to all your characters/mules.
Play for a while, at least 5 minutes. You have to play, you can't just sit in town.
After 5 minutes or so, go back to town and drop a junk item on the ground and exit.
Attempt to connect to your game with another character. If the junk item is there, you are all set to drop valuable items for switching between characters/mules.
This is much safer than 'trusting' someone else with your stuff while you switch characters (unless you know them outside of the game). I'm not sure how long the game will stick around with no characters playing but as long as you switch characters fairly quickly it shouldn't be a problem. You just have to wait that 5 minutes when you first create it so the server thinks it is a real game.

I have a lvl zeal 90 pally, lvl 90 lightning sorc, lvl 90 druid, lvl 84 holy freeze pally(fun to use) and 4 mules packed with items(all good stuff..no crap). bah I may go buy a copy I played this for a few weeks I never even beat the game
