Hello. 2013 CX5
Got a parasitic draw of 1.2amps. Battery tested good with 2 different tests. Did a full system test and a battery test with a draw test.
Set the car up to go to sleep. Waited 1 hour before touching it again. Key fob was over 30 foot away. Hooked DMM to read Amps hooking one end to negative battery post and other lead to ground lead for the battery.
I pulled all fuses under dash and under the hood. Pulled all relays as well. Disconnected the ECM, BCM, ABS module. Still showing a consistent 1.2amp draw.
Thoughts are...
Battery may have an issue but it is new and has been tested by myself and also NAPA and Battery XChange. Alternator tested good and is only charging at 13.6V. Starter possibly? No issues starting and system testing showed it to be good.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thank you in advance.
***Late Update***
Found the issue on this one - the harness for the driver's door was full of water in the rubber boot. The water would pool to the bottom of the connector causing the short/draw. The pass through for the A-pillar was damaged and allowed water to get in. Cleaned it all up, used electrical cleaner, cleaned up the corrosion and put it back together all good. Recommended a new door harness since the pass through does not lock into place any longer and it will not sit flush to the door jamb.
