Depth of Door Speaker Location

Anyone have any idea how deep a speaker can be installed in the doors of our car with out the windows or anything else hitting the magnet?

While I don't know the exact depth. I did replace my door speakers last weekend and unless you have a gigantic speaker, any 6x8 should fit. I doubt like a 9-10" woofer would fit depthwise though, unless it was slim. (I realize the bose is 9" fronts i think)

In fact, from memory, I dont think the windows go down far enough into the door to hit the magnet even if the magnet went all the way to the door frame. I'm going to rerun some wire this weekend probably. I'll measure then maybe.

I appreciate any info you can give me after going back in there this weekend. I aske because I have a set of Kenwood XXV 6.75" components that wouldn't fit in my MSP doors due to the depth. I haven't taken apart the CX7 yet but was just trying to get a feel for what may or may not fit

I didn't redo the back doors, but the front doors there is at least 4" of depth, measured from the top of the speaker mount to where the window comes down to.

That's what I'm concerned with. The back speakers for me are relatively insignificant as they will be used only for fill purposes! I appreciate the info
