deck install

Hi!

I have a 2002 Protege5. I had a blown rear speaker so i replaced all 4 with Infinity speakers. Now I'm looking at getting a new deck. The one I'm most interested in is the Alpine CDA-105. Has anyone had any experience with it? I'm wanting it for iPod use as well as CD use.

I plan on doing the install myself. If I buy a harness and dash kit am I good to go? I'm thinking about getting the Metra harness ans dash kit. Any good? Is there a difference between the 70-7903 and 71-7903 harnesses? Can anyone recommend an on-line place to pick up there install parts? Canadian sites would be ideal.

yes u want Metra 70-7903. the other one is a male connector just like harness that goes into the radio.

any alpine unit is better then the stock honestly lol
i have stock speakers and when i upgraded the deck it was a HUGE improvement in sound and adjustability

Does anyone have pictures of a similar unit mounted with the Metra dash kit?

How was easy was the install?

i will be putting my Pioneer DEH-P5100UB today with scosche dash kit from walmart and metra harness. i hope everything goes well.
