I'm really debating what to get this summer for my car. I'm really torn between either getting a BEGI Turbo (~$2300?) or These rims/tires and an ACT clutch (~$1800). Any ideas? opinions?

If I went with the rims/wheels/clutch this summer I would definatly get the turbo by next summer.

Turbo...just cuz i'm not a giant fan of those rims....

Ok for those of you who arent fans of the rims what would be your choice if you did like the rims i posted?

I would say rims and clutch, but for the tires, maybe think about the Khumo MX's. Same price, but better tire. I have the Parada's now, but I am getting the MX's next...

a BEGI turbo (actually sold by Flyin Miata now) will cost you $3495, not $2300 :)

do a flywheel, a clutch and some nice rims. The lighter flywheel will truly justify putting in that heavy duty clutch :)

I'd have to go with Ken. Shouldn't you should have a stronger clutch before you pick up the turbo, anyways?

Im not big on black wheels either, but thats a matter of taste. Reguardless I would go with the rim, tire, clutch combo. Turbo is not something to be messed with lightly. Ive seen plenty of folks jack up their car with tubos without having their car really well set up for it. Take your time on the turbo.

I think I will get the clutch/flywheeel/rims but damn man, why does the flywheel have to be so damn expensive. I already dont have a fvcking clue how to do the clutch and theres no way I'm opening up the tranny and trying to figure out that. Its gonna cost me a fortune to get it installed. Oh and the BEGI kit is $3150 actually.
BEGI $3150

personally, i would work on the rims/suspension

Suspensions been done since before I bought the car. Whoever owned the car before me was nice enough to put some nice Skunk2 coilovers on. I do want those MP3 blue struts though...

How many people here that have had their clutch/flywheel done did it themselves?

I'm not sure that page is up to date...it doesn't have the listed upgrades like the fuel pump and the voltage clamp which are absolutely essential to run the kit properly, added by FM/FP. Last I heard all sales were being handled by Flyin Miata/Flyin Protege. I'll email them and find out because I'm curious as well.

As for flywheel prices, the Fidanza is $75 cheaper than the Unorthodox Racing one at the same weight. I have the Fidanza myself and find it to be an excellent high quality piece.

I've never tried installing a clutch or flywheel on the Protege, but when we tried it on my father's Celica a few years back we gave up after a week's worth of effort. Personally, I'd leave that to a pro.

How much did you pay for installation for both if I may ask?
