MSP & MS3
Originally I had my heart set on a Red MS3. It's the car that was featured most and, since I have an orange MSP, was the version that most matched its inherent 'booyah!' quality.

4 years after getting my orange MSP, sadly.. I've toned it down a bit. I'm thinkin silver's more my speed.... pun intended.

but here's the thing.... because I'd be hookin it up with an aftermarket audio system (and the rest of the GT features a pretty lame) I figured I'd save the dough and just get a sport. unfortuneatly, I'm finding (or not finding) a silver sport to be impossible.

there's a local dealership that JUST got a red sport in... and has a silver GT. the color disparity couldn't be larger... seeing them basically side by side really showed the difference. Part of me stil digs the idea of having the red. it's obviously the most flashy of the bunch and, hell... u only live once. plus, the thought of saving $2k sounds pretty damn good....

on the other hand, silver's probably a better choice for me. more professional looking.... plus, I love how the wheels seem to match the paint. very cool!

so what do you guys think? if these were your only 2 options and you had to pick one... best color choice with a bunch of crap you don't need (silver GT) or original fav color but perhaps too flashy red sport... for $2k less than the GT.

if only it was the other way around.... but based on what everyone has told me, finding a silver sport is going to be next to impossible. (wtf mazda???) and I want one of these cars like... yesterday.

Silver cause red is more of a target for cops and it would also increase insurance.

Lol, honestly though, I would still pick Silver cause of its stealthy look.

I have black and I'm never going back!

well im biased, i think the silver looks way better more of a sleeperness to it. i also liked the GT options it has the better looking taillights. and i have the nav sys. and i dont know how i lived before HID.

I like the red personally. I didn't have a choice when I bought mine. I'm glad I was stuck with a red one. :)

BTW, insurance doesn't care what color your car is. In fact, the don't ask. The whole "red car = more $" is untrue.

Very true...Same goes for Red gets more tickets....Also Untrue....Its been proven through studies.

Get the silver because it's clear that color more represents your sensibilities...as least from what you stated in the posting. The red is fun for sure but it might attract unwated attention. Get the silver and get the GT as well...2k over the loan time isn't going to break the deal, is it? That's $40 more a month.

I agree about the HID lights too....driving at night is actually fun because of it (headbang)

good point... I suppose if I had to shell out an extra $2k up front it would be a harder pill to swallow. Over the course of a loan, however, it's nothing more than... skippin dinner at Chilis once a month. (or whatever)

Plus... maybe I'll dig those extras more than I thought. As for the leather... I'll have no problem maintaining it and making sure it doesn't rip, tear or crack.... Since I take a lot of clients out to lunch and what not, I'll have to accept the fact that the passenger seat's probably not going to hold up nearly as well.

Dude, don't sweat it, just put some clear plastic on the passenger side seat and you'll be all set. I saw that on Boys In The Hood and it looked effective for blood....

The silver is more under the radar. Most people don't give it a second glance. Silver sports aren't impossible to find. I've got one parked in my driveway.

I had the same dilema...

I test drove a red one and though I never thought about the color red...it grew on me after the test drive... That car does look nice in red...

I always wanted a silver car; so my original color choice was silver. Though the MS3 looks so plain in silver...gets lost in traffic with other cars...which is a bonus for me since I have a heavy foot. The red would definitely stand out in traffic, thus attracting the cops attention. That is a really bright red!!!

I still went with the Silver Sport... Black, too hard to keep clean, red, too flashy, and cosmic blue, never seen one...

If you really want the silver sport, just order it... Thats what I did... Mine came straight off the boat into my hands. Just had to wait like 3 weeks for it.

I know that which ever color you decide to go with, you'll be very happy. You'll basically go with one and never look back...

Just choose the color you really want...

I would go with the Silver GT. Silver seems to appear cleaner for longer and blends in the "crowd" better. This gives you even more of a sleeper look. If you care for the leather with conditioner and cleaner it will hold up just fine. I love the auto-wipers and the HID's. The stereo is neither here nor there for me, after about 5 years when my warrenty is up I will probably re-work it but if you set the EQ right it is tolerable.
