I appologize for my ignorance but isn't a mr2 a RWD car? In white lake you won't be happy with that during the winter months (aka October-May ). The contour does have some aftermarket options but I've never been crazy about the appearance. If you can handle a mr2 in the winter months then I vote toyota simply because of styling.

Yup, the MR-2 is rear wheel drive. MR-2 all the way, if you can find a turbo model in good condition.

yes, however, the rx-7 of the same year is a lot harder to find, also there is a cash difference in the two, and all i have is about 9000 to spend on purchasing a car

That's exactly how I would do an MR-2. Blitz 03 wheels are sooooo dope.
