i finally decided to buy some subs, but i dunno much about'em so i need help...

i narrowed it down to two subs.....either

Infinity 12" Subwoofer (1242W)
http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/prod...1 Infinity subwoofer get 1 free-_-Infinity 12

or

12" Type-R Series Subwoofer
http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/subcategory_info?p_category=70&p_subcategory=150&p_main=10

if i go wit the type R's which ones do i pick (4ohm + 4ohm) or (2ohm + 2ohm)

and if i buy subs won't i need an amp???
how do i kno wut type of amp to get and how many channels???

buy an amp first, then buy a sub to match it.... the amp is where the money is so the more you spend there the better subs you can buy/more you can have... not sure how you want to set it up... but i would check jl audio's 250/1.... great amp and for newbies with the slash system the ohmage doesn't matter b/c of jls technology...

well i jus bought 2005 Alpine MRD-M605 mono amp...... i think i'mma go wit one type r to match it...which 12" type R goes wit this amp??....but i wuz wondering if in the future i decide to add one more sub will i have to buy another amp to support both subs or can i use one amp for both subs...and if i can use one amp for both will that cuz any problems with them??

I believe you want the 4ohm DVC for the mono amp.

You won't be able to buy another sub and add it on. Regardless, you won't get more sound by connecting two subs to the same amp even if the voice coil configuration did work. To get more sound you will need to increase the amplifier wattage. You could buy an additional sub and an additional amp but if that is your intention then I recommend you save your pennies until you are ready to build an entire system.
