decent upgrades?

hey, im looking for input on what to upgrade on my 03mp5.
i was wondering about performance chips, and if anyone has installed one on thier p5, and if its even worth doing. also what make of exhaust to put on. im not into loud exhaust, and want to keep the look of my p5 as 'low key' or 'sleeper' like as possible. and last what type of intake... SRI, CAI? im leaning towards SRI, just cuz im in canada, and it can get wet in spring, and hella cold in winter....

just wanted some input for a new p5 owner.

Whats goin on man. I also live in Canada, actually right in Mississauga so not to far from you. I've got an AEM C.A.I on mine, was thinking of the Short Ram but decided to go with the Long ram instead. I'm also getting an exhaust and im going racing beat. From what I have heard from around this forum this is the best for our car. Its not to loud but still sounds great! As for the chip im not sure, my mechanic suggested one to me so I'm also thinking of one as well. Well I hope this helps!

just get a cheap intake from ebay then put a nice p-flow/air filter on hit.This will do it. For the exhaust, i think i would go with a header first.

And from what i heard, there is no chip for our car.

there is no chip for our car, the only thing that is close is swaping in an mp3 ecu which will even out the torque curve and give u a slight bump in power, but you also have to put in premium after the fact.

go racing beat exhaust it is exactly what you would want.

get a cai that you can swap out between sri and cai whenever you want. hydrolock is the only concern with a cai but its a remote risk that would only really happen if you went through a deeeeeeep puddle at a high rpm.

just to let you know our engines do not respond highly to n/a modifications. in other words you might spend $1,500 on a full exhaust system and an intake and maybe get 15whp.

thanks alot guys... all this info is really helping! any suggestions on what types of intakes? i like injens SRI, but havent looked into what types of CAI's are on the market.

yea i really like the look of your red intake! the car is red so im gunna keep it either polished or red. was your AEM SRI easy to install?
