Dealer visit tomorrow

I'm having the dealer rotate my tires tomorrow (i'm at 25K, bought it last june), hey I got a coupon for 19.99 oil change and 99 cents for rotating the tires!

Anyway, I brought a couple of things to their attention:

1) I think the engine sounds way too loud at idle, is it normal? I had a 2000 jeep wrangler prior to the cx-7 and the engine was quiet compared to the cx-7. I mentioned it before, at first they though they heard a 'pinging' sound but then said it was OK. It reminds me of my 1983 celica which had a bad cam after running it low on oil, so that is kinda scary but I think it's just me and it is 'normal'.

2) I get terrible gas milage, my jeep got 16 mpg and the cx-7 get 15-16, jeep was a 4.0L inline 6! I know it's a know issue here & in the many reviews online.

I don't think they can do anything about my concerns but I think it's good to let them know, maybe they can pass it on to the powers that be, plus how are they going to know of any issues if we don't bring them up.

Anything else I should be asking them?

You should get them to write the service order that the customer says ........ That way if it gets bad after the waraanty you have some leverage as to get it fixed as if it was under the waraanty. You must get it written down by the dealer and not an informal chat with the mechanic. Ed

Just got back from the dealer, they said the engine sounds normal.

They also said that 16-18 mpg is common with the cx-7.

Again, I was not looking for a fix but just wanted to bring it to their attention.

The cool part, I had a coupon for a 99 cents tire rotation, I was going to pay the dollar & the guy said I was all set. I know it was only a dollar but the guys at the mazda service have been really good to me & my cx-7.
