DDM 6000K bulb replacement

I didn't do a very in depth how-to regarding this, since it had been done before. I know there's one in the how-to section, but I don't believe it details how to remove the bumper and take the fogs out.

As for adjustment, on the MS6, we have a 3-position motor that is controlled inside the car, not sure if the US built 6s have that. I don't think you can adjust any headlamps left or right, just up and down. There should be the typical mounting screw on the top of the headlight housing to adjust. Just park in front of a wall or garage door and adjust until you're happy. Keep in mind they will come pre-aimed with the drivers side slightly lower than the pass. side.

thanks. The US models have (or at least mine) two screws to aim them. And I was wondering why the driver side was a bit lower than the passender, thanks for helping me out.

maybe some good projectors would fix that? ^^^

too much money for new projectors. I was looking at the DDM website that most of you seem to reccomend and was wondring why are they so cheap. Unless, I'm mistaken, I saw a kit for 35$. Is that right?

I'm asking because I have Xenon HID's H1 (35w 6K). I bought mine for 80$. I feel like I got ripped off :(
Is there a difference between the two kits?

Difference is price lol

OK i received my kit today, not sure if its 35w or 55w and i don't' know how to tell, i bought the 35 kit the raptor, and i received the slim ballast kit. But I'm wondering how to hook it up, its a bit different then the write up sticky that is here.

Can anyone tell me what these 2 pins are for???? or what plugs into what lol

Thanks

those are in case if you have to ground the car. Meaning run a relay harness which you dont... So disregard those 2 pins

Just a heads up for those who have ordered and haven't recieved their products or are about to order:

DDM Tuning Due to incredibly high sales, if you have ordered our 35W Raptor HID Kit between 1.22.10 - 1.29.10, your order will be shipping no later than February 5th 2010, our sincerest apologies - DDM

but we will be going from oldest backorder to newest, everyone will be working over time when they get in :)

yup i emailed them about my order because i wanted a set of 3,000k's for this years upcoming shows.. its a really easy switchout takes less then 15 minutes being very careful not to ruin the bulbs.. anyways i got the same message back basically. (burnout)

Found out a week ago why I lost a fog light. Turns out the ignitor and ballast on my DS fog light fell off the mount, through the hole, and decided to GTFO of my car. I ordered a replacement set of HID fogs through DDM, which will give me a full set of spare bulbs, and a spare ballast/ignitor. I'll pull the bumper and re-mount these with more convincing methods when I get a chance.

Steve I got a couple questions for you if you don't mind.

First off i ordered the exact same thing that you did for your car and i am now in the process of installing them. I installed the HID's in the headlights but something seems funky when i turn them on they kinda flicker until they warm up and just wondering if yours does the same?

Next where did you mount the ballasts for the fog lights? I'm trying to decide on the best possible place.

Few pics of the front of the car, could you point out where you put yours??

Thanks in advance!

Also took pictures and will do a how to remove the front bumper/headlights!

Never a problem to answer a few questions Ryan. I got your PM and wanted to hit them up quick.

-I've seen my fogs, not my lows flicker. It might be cold temps, new bulbs, etc, but give it a week or so and see if it clears up. Mine have done it a few times at most, not enough to seriously worry though.

-I mounted mine on a flat spot, which appears to be right behind where that electrical connector was hanging down. When my new fog kit arrives, I will be spending more time looking for a location that can be zip-tied into place, or somewhere I can use some self tapping screws to secure it without compromising a part on the front end.

- Glad to hear you'll do a how-to of removing the bumper. It's not as hard as people think it is, so this will be a huge help for the MS6 guys.

Let me know of anything else you might be curious about. I think a couple of good sessions with the lights on for 20-30 minutes to burn in and get to operating temp will be fine.

Thanks steve, i'm hoping where the battery seems to be down a bit might be the cause of it. Haven't started it in 2 weeks and battery seemed a little low then when i started it tonight. But after it warmed up i shut it off and had the radio on for an hour or so while i was working and never did try and start the car then start the lights. Will try tomorrow.

As regards to taking off the bumper there is only 1 tricky thing and that is the small bolts that hold the corner on.

Done

This is where i mounted my ballasts to. Tapped up the corner just in case it rubs.
