DCR Engine build FTW !!!!

OK y'all know my engine blew. (see here for details) Darrell Cox Racing has my car now and they are going to re-build my motor and do some magic on it. This thread is to update the status of the build and also get advice from others who are more experienced in this area than myself. My goals are super reliable forged DD with 330WHP or so (more would be cool but I'm not sure if my budget will allow it). No autoexe, no drag racing, just a go fast DD.

New Parts:
Arias Pistons and Pauter Rods
DCR Exhaust manifold
Cobb Catted Down Pipe

Turbo:
GT2871 or Garrett t3/t4 or DCR re-worked - Looking for advise on this !

Clutch:
Spec Stage 2 plus - - Looking for advise on this ! I want something that's going to hold up but not be a drag as a DD.

Used Block (thanks Randy).

I hope you guys will give me some good advice on the clutch / turbo. Thanks!

subbing...are you keeping the stock compression ratio? what are your goals with the car? hp rating, autox car, drag car, etc. these can change recommendations

are you going all new parts (intake fmic, etc)? Only reason im asking is all parts made for the car currently are designed for the k04. once you go big turbo, everything else has to grow to keep up....

Already have a big fmic ! So I'm good there. I have heard the turboxs is too big for the k04 but it ran fine on my car.

make sure you get tons of pics up here or at msf.....looking to go down this route myself eventually with a 3071r or 3076r....providing we have a good cam option in the future

for this build you would be foolish to use one of the Garrett options presently on the market. ATP shelf turbos simply won't be the long term solution with what you are doing here. since they are doing manifolds and downpipes with whatever flanges you see fit, getting a good sized T3 flanged turbo with the proper sized exhaust housing is the right way to go. you'll want a Spec Stage 3 Plus clutch or higher clutch.

Why ask here instead of relying on Darrell?

Just getting myself more educated and finding out what others have used (or avoided). DCR has not started on the car yet so this is just some prelim fact finding. I'm sure Darrell will have a lot to say himself when the time comes.

Ken I think you meant to say "not use" right ?

Also will the spec stage 3 plus be ok for a DD ? thanks for your input

yes lol, do not use. ideally i'd like to see a t3/t4 with custom downpipe. i think you'd get much better results with this turbo than what is presently out there. a stage 3 plus is fine. any of the plus clutches are full faced clutches that provide a streetable feel moreso than a puck style disc would.
