DCR Caliber Srt-4 dyno's 313whp/305whtq

how heavy are calibers? i know they have alot of plastic...so maybe lighter than an ms3? lol

decent numbers, but that's alot of mods. though i dont know how much power they actually got from a big oil filter and a thermostat (unless the stock thermo really really really sucks and runs super hot). i'd say minus the breathing mods, the meth/water injection is doing most of the work, esp if it's still on ecu controlled boost.

i'd like to see a dyno of one on stock boost with just intake and TBE (breathing mods), that would be a fair comparison to an MS3 with similar mods to see which one gets better gains from simple stuff.

That's a good idea...I'll pm some folks and see what they can do.

I think they are close in weight. I remember seeing the specs and noticing they are within 100lbs of each other.

the one thing the srt does that our cars dont is hold power to redline. im with laloosh though. I cant wait to meet one at the track or on the street. GAME OVER!!!!! Mod for mod is not looking good for the srt though. Atleast on my car anyway. LOL

Ill wait to see track times with setups like mine to judge to harsh. I wish our cars had that turbo though. Its a nice turbo.

Ps. The rear is just plain ugly!!!!!!!!!!!! I think the front looks doable though. Id roll one around but as far as owning one?? NAH

lol minvan same caliber lol, dose anyone know what type of dyno they were using? thewre was another thread somewhare that talked about the first dyno of a CSRT-4 and they did no adding of parts and it looked liked they got way more power then that car did and how well tuned did they have it?

Why would anyone want to race a (uhm) minivan? The Caliber is not of the same caliber as the speed3. This is, and always will be a non issue for me.

your an idiot! (stfu)you need to look at the specs on each car...they are almost identical in length width and height as the ms3...

so i guess the ms3 could be called a mini van as well??

That dyno/tuner is in Greensboro where Palerider and I dyno. When we went last Thursday, Mark (Darrel Cox's tuner) was telling us about it. Stock it dyno'd like 277/26X or something... I forget how many pulls it did, but it was A LOT!

Pretty cool car, but I like the Neon SRT much much better

Probably between a 12.6 to 12.9.. dunno about their MPH though.. i suspect it being slower than the MS3s traps. Depending on how well their AWD system works. Should be interesting. Keep us posted... their forum gives me a headache with all that red!

I wouldn't call him an idiot, but I don't consider my MS3 (or the Caliber) a minivan. The base Caliber does look a bit like a mini Durango, however. =p I personally don't mind minivans at all. Mazda 5 (mini-minivan) is quite fun to drive while being practical. I'd definitely buy one if I had a family. *^_^*

The Caliber seems promising; nevertheless, I just can't get over its styling. >_<

each to his own..i have heard alot of people saying that it is alot better looking in person. But it's size is almost the same as the ms3.

I dont know why i keep thinking that thing is AWD than.. Was it originally supposed to be AWD?

One thing the SRT has which might be an advantage over the ms3 at higher altitudes (like where I live) is variable boost to limit torque (the ms3 limits boost only, which will vary power depending on temp and altitude).

From sport compact car:

Rather than cap the boost level to reduce torque steer, the team at SRT have created a variable boost delivery system that seeks to maintain an optimum level of torque at any altitude or air inlet temperature. In first gear, it's designed to hit 215lb-ft of torque, 230 in second and 265 in third gear and up. And it will deliver however much boost pressure is required to hit those torque numbers. At sea level, the maximum boost pressure is around 12psi, although SRT engineers have seen levels as high as 15psi to maintain a steady 265lb-ft.

Sounds like it will deliver more consistent power levels than the ms3, in Calgary (3,438 ft elevation) I think the SRT would be faster. I'll still take great steering feel and overall refinement over a few tenths in the quarter-mile any day. I wonder how mod-friendly those calibrations are, would the ecu reduce boost to hit the same torque level regardless of what mods you've done?

Don't worry. I SWORE it was AWD also at first. I think it's not offered in the SRT because it's CVT.

I just searched the website, whats the bid deal here. The car dynoed like 267 stock and 272 after a intake and a tbe, catless, straightpipe no mufflers. IT did gain 30-35 through some points of the powerband, but i seriously think they are overratting this car. Well c what it runs on whatever slick they are using, im only going to care about trap speeds.
